I am sitting here writing this with my A/C on ! It's red hot here and not exactly 'Christmas' weather ;-) I made a promise to myself at Christmas to make at least one Christmas card a week starting in February ! Well that didn't happen ! But at least I have one ready now !! yay !!
The theme on the Funky Fairy's Challenge is to make a card or creation with Christmas in mind. You have to use at least one Funky Fairy's Papercrafts download to enter. They have some wonderful papers to buy in the store or you can go to the Blog of Inspiration and find some lovely freebies too :-)

I treated myself and bought the Lets Get Traditional set, it was a difficult choice tho because they have some lovely Christmas paper downloads. I am sure I will be using these alot though, many of them I can use throughout the year too,,, bargain !! :-)

The image is a Penny Black Jolly Xmas Kitty. I bought this to use last Christmas and never inked it so I just had to use this one :-) Isn't it CUTE !! :-) As you can see I glittered almost everything ! I didn't have any white glitter card so I made me own :-)

As you can see I decorated the inside too :-) The sentiment comes with the download pack along with loads of other images. I can't recommend this set enough it is FABBY !!
The DT have done some wonderful creations for your inspiration so please go and see them :-) We love coming to see what you have made so please join in The Funky Fairy's Challenge!

I made this card following the lovely sketch on the Truly Scrumptious Challenge, they also asked for flowers which had been made or altered in some way. My flower was white which I sprayed with green and orange glimmer mist. The button was a clear SU one which i coloured with pink alcohol ink.

The Tilda image was the first one I bought and she is still one of my faves :-) I coloured her with copics and paper pieced her dungaree's with a bit of leftover paper in my bits box.The design on the dungarees was sparkled with copics glitter pens ( love them !)

The inner nestie shape was coloured with pearlescent chalks then cuttlebugged in a swirl folder, then inked around the edges with turquoise pigment ink, then embossed with sparkle and layered onto orange and black circles.

The papers are a mix of basic grey and doodlebug.
The sentiment is from Simon Says Clear Stamps SENDING SUNSHINE Exclusive Set.
The corners were made with papermania sticky shapes and sprinkled with orange glitter. I think thats all,,,, :-)

Yummy Mimi :-)

I received my new Pink Gem stamps a few days ago and this gorgeous Ice Cream Mimi was amongst them :-) Isn't she gorgeous, I love the photo of the little girl that inspired this stamp too, you can see it here if you haven't seen it go and have a look ,,, soo cute :-)

I coloured her with copics but kept the colours very pale. i thought there was enough colour in the paper !! :-) I 3D'd her legs and the ice cream so they really stick out ! :-) I added a bit of glitter too on the ice cream,,, yummy !!

I made the background by dabbing a dusty concorde distress ink pad on a non stick sheet, sprayed it with water and swirled the card around in it. When it was dry I stamped foliage using a pine needles distress ink pad. The tree trunk is a Magnolia stamp that I stamped onto patterned paper. I had a tiny bit of grass patterned paper that I used too :-)

The papers are Stamping Up and the sentiment is from Simon Says Clear Stamps SENDING SUNSHINE Exclusive Set, I am using this particular sentiment set alot lately, they just seem to fit so nicely ! :-)

The flowers were plain white prima flowers which I inked with worn lipstick and dusty concorde distress inks then sprayed with water to smudge it :-) I did mean to spray them with glimmer mist too but I liked them as they were so decided not to !

I am entering this card into the following challenges :-

The Sketch and Stash Challenge, Becky has made this gorgeous sketch for us to follow and we have to use something new or old and neglected, well I used my new stamp :-) I would also like to congratulate Jill on joining the Design Team :-)

Simon Says ,,,, Pink and Brown :-)

It seems we aren't the only challenge who chose to use PINK / BROWN this week so lots of opportunity there for multi challenging :-)

The design team have all used a Simon Says Brand stamps on their cards, either an image or a sentiment, it is not a requirement for the entrants tho if you do have any we would love to see you use them :-)
Rach is joining us this week in the Designer Spotlight :-) Rach is a designer on the Simon Says Stamp brand DT, pop over to her blog to see her work ! Its fantastic !! :-)

I have got the Tim Holtz bug and this has been inked and sprayed everywhere !! My desk is covered too ! It looks lovely all shimmery and sparkly :-)

The butterfly image is from the Simon Says Clear Stamps Butterfly BUTTERFLIES Exclusive Set!

I also stamped the background with stamps from the Simon Says Clear Stamps OWLS AND BRANCHES Exclusive Set.
I used a few Tim Holtz techniques on this. The background was coloured by inking my non stick craft mat with distress ink, sprayed with water then the card swirled around in it. When dry the background leaves and branches were stamped with distredd ink then sprinkled with perfect pearls, sprayed with wayer then dried with a heat tool, it does give a fabby effect. I used the same technique for the butterflies too :-) I also used some grungeboard wings toi make a butterfly, it was DT Debby that had this brilliant idea last week so I've copied her :-) I cuttlebugged them with swiss dots and painted with light brown acrylic paint, then dabbed perfect pearls all over them and left them to dry, then smothered them with crackle glaze :-)
The flowers were plain white Prima flowers which I inked with 2 different distress inks then I made my own glimmer mist using a water based ink, a little water and some gold perfect pearls !! Brilliant !!
All these techniques and tips are on the Tim Holtz website in his Demo's section:-)

I just bought a pack of brown coredinations and it's gorgeous ! As you can see I reverse cuttlebugged it and sanded to let the pink show through. The lace was also inked with distress ink as were all the edges of all the card :-) The sentiment is from the Simon Says Clear Stamps SENDING SUNSHINE Exclusive Set

I am entering this card in the following challenges :-
The Charisma Cardz Challenge who have the same theme :-)
The Spoonfull of Sugar Challenge whose theme is Butterflies
The Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge whose theme is 'Bling'
