Memory Box Velvet Blossom

I recently bought this new Velvet Blossom Craft Die from Memory Box and thought it would just cut and emboss the flowers as you see them but in fact they come in little bits that you shape and assemble. More time consuming but the finished flowers are absolutely gorgeous, so worth the effort ;-)

I die cut them from Watercolor Paper  and coloured them to look like poppies using a Sakura Koi Watercolor Set.
Unfortunately I have needed to make a couple of 'Thinking of You/Sympathy' cards in the last few days, it is sad to make them but you just hope the recipient gets some comfort from knowing that you are thinking of them.

Thanks for looking, I hope you all have a fabulous day whatever you are doing :-)

We are going to spend the day with rays family in Malta, his brother is a fabulous cook (as is Ray, it runs in the family :-)) and he, and my SIL have invited everyone for lunch. I am so looking forward to it :-) We went to Vietnam and Cambodia with them and we haven't seen them since we got back so a day of holiday reminiscing I think :-)

House Mouse Daisy Float

Oh my goodness. I just went into our bedroom and Jessie dog's eyes are fixed looking under a cupboard in the corner. She is obviously interested in something and Phoebe cat is looking as if butter wouldn't melt. I called for Ray and he pulled the cupboard out slightly and there is a little Dormouse hiding in the corner, the poor thing must have been terrified. We got the dog and cat out of the bedroom and caught it, well Ray did, I was standing on the bed ! He set it free in the fields, so that is one lucky little mouse today, Phoebe must have caught it and brought it inside, it seemed to be unharmed, just scared out of his wits, poor little thing.

I must admit, I do prefer these little House Mouse images than the real thing, they run so fast !!

I love the 'Hello Sunshine' theme over on the Less Is More Challenge and thought I would join in with a 2nd entry. Doesn't he look happy floating along under his flower, the image is called 'Daisy Float' but I coloured it like a miniature sunflower ;-)

Thanks for looking, I hope you all have a lovely sunshiny day ;-)

Simon Says Stencil It

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

This week the challenge is

Stencils are all the rage right now, there are so many things you can do with them! You can use them as masks to create fabulous custom backgrounds, you can spritz, sponge, stipple, use a blending tool to 'smoosh' the colors, use several layers of stencils to create a collage design effect. You could also use embossing paste to create texture, there are lots of fun techniques to try.  You are never quite sure of how it will look until you remove the stencil and then your design is revealed!  You can also use them to emboss a delicate design onto paper or card stock.
You can use store bought stencils, or you can make your own masks using die cut, or hand cut shapes.

We are showcasing THE CRAFTERS WORKSHOP PRODUCTS this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

I used Mini Viva La Art 6x6 Template and made a wall hanging for my craft room :-)

I really had fun making this. I started out with some sticky back canvas and painted a layer of gesso over it. I then scribbled some aqua, blue and pink Gelatos over the top and blended them using a spritz of water and my fingers.

I then used the stencil over the top, I masked the area around 'ART' and used some Black Soot Distress Ink Pads to colour the word. I then used Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers and Stormy Sky Inks to blend through the stencil.

I then used Archival Black ink to stamp some circle designs and an imagination saying, Then used Embossing Paste and a Memory Box Texture Drip Rings and Simon Says Stamp Bokeh Lights Stencils to add texture. I then splattered with Dylusions Black and Lime Green and Tumbled Glass Spray Inks.

So now it's YOUR turn, Happy Crafting
