Simon Says Thanks Challenge :-)

Oohh my goodness you do like a bit of sparkle :-) We had a fantastic response to the sparkly challenge,,, Thank you all so much for all your fab entries,,, as there are soooo many of you the DT are taking it in turns to leave comments ,,, we hope you don't mind but there are only so many hours in a day and we do all like to make cards too !!! :-)

So onto this weeks Simon Says Stamp Challenge :-) It is Thanksgiving in the US soon (Thurs 26th) so we thought it would be nice to do a Thanks/Thanksgiving Challenge :-)

This week we have Penny D joining us in the Designer Spotlight :-) Penny has a fabulous blog and has some of her own digi images for sale too ,,, sooo talented ;-) So pop by her blog to say Hi :-)




I followed the lovely layout on the Friday Sketchers Challenge and followed the monochromatic theme on the Just Magnolia Challenge as you can see I went with browns :-)

I used my lovely TILDA WITH APPLE PIE I coloured her with copics and 3D'd her. The papers are all downloads from Funky Fairys Papercrafts, I used Fancy Flourish and Simply Brushed sets :-) The flowers are Prima and the brad is from Kaiser :-) These were lovely gifts from Heidi at Simon Says Stamp store The apple charm is now available at Simon Says Stamp too :-)The 'thanks' sentiment is from a Simon Says Clear Stamps SENDING SUNSHINE Exclusive Set

Funky Fairys Fall/Autumn Challenge

When I think of Autumn,, I always think of Cox's Orange Pippins. For those of you who don't know what they are ,, here's a piccy :-)



These apples are THE nicest tasting desert apples ,,,,yummy !! :-)



I used a lovely Sarah Kay Clear Stamp TIME FOR APPLE PIE from Stampavie
:-) I coloured the image with copics ( and tried to make the apples look like Cox's !! ) and 3D'd the basket. The papers are from Funky Fairys papercrafts these are from the Feeling Fruity Shabby Style and I have just noticed when I went to get the link that it is on sale ,, the usual price is £4.99 and it is now £2.99 !! Bargain !! It is a gorgeous set ,,, go get it !!
The flower is Prima the button and ribbon is from my stash. The apple charm is available in Simon Says Stamp

I'm late I'm late for a very important date :-)

The gorgeous Greeting Farm stamps that I won on the Anyone for Anya Challenge a couple of weeks arrived a few days ago,, they cheered me up no end :-) Thank you to Dawny P and the DT for those ,, I really appreciate and love them :=) x x

Well I HAD to use them for this weeks Anyone for Anya Challenge which is 'Patriotic' Now I did intend red, white, blue,,, Union Jack colours,, but I really needed blue card and I didn't have any ,,, so instead of blue I used black ,,,, as I am writing this I am wondering WHY didn't I print off some Funky papers ??? cos I am daft and didn't think ,,, duh !! The Maltese flag is red/white with a black George Cross on it ,,, so will that do ?? :-)

I also followed the lovely sketch by Sonja on 'A Spoonfull Of Sugar Challenge':-)



I coloured the images with copics and 3D'd them. The papers are Doodlebug with some black and white cardstock too. The white panel was embossed using the swiss dots folder ,,,, I would LOVE the one with the hearts,, that would have been lovely to use ,,,,:-) but swiss dots are nice too ,,, :-)




The ribbon and button and charm are from my stash and the sentiment was printed on the comp ;-) I KNOW the White Rabbit sing's I'm late I'm late for a very important date ,,, but as I have The Mad Hatter and Alise ,, it had to be plural ! :-)

Final card as GD for the Papertake Weekly Challenge

I have had a lovely time working with Dawny P and the gang on the Papertake Weekly Challenge ,,, thanks so much for inviting me along :-)

This week the lovely Dawny P has made a fabulous sketch for us all to work with,, nice and simple ,, perfect for me :-)



We were all given 6 fabulus digi images created by Lou from Lily Boo to work with ;-) I chose to use the snowman but all of them lovely and I will use them all ,, I have them all printed and ready ;-)



I coloured the image with copics and added loads of various typed of stickles and 3D glitter glue. The papers are from a Daisy and Dandelion pad that was in a Do Crafts goody bag :-) The snowflake is a spellbinders die cut and the fab snowman charm was a lovely gift from Heidi at Simon Says Stamp
I used loads of glitter copics and his ear muffs were made with applique glue and glitter. The fab ribbon is from my local haberdasherry,, I got the last 6" piece !! The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set, I embossed this with silver EP ,, it doesn't show up very well in the piccy buy is lovely IRL :-)

Our Rooster RIP

It seems we jumped to conclusions re Rooster being shot. There was an entry wound and as the hunters are out in force we wronly presumed that is what had happened to him. He has had an autopsy and it appears that he was stabbed. It can't have been accidental as the wound was behind his shoulder ,,, so he couldn't have jumped and impaled himself. Poor Rooster, he was so friendly he would have gone to anyone who called him ,, I think this is even more sinsister and wicked than being shot :-(

Just Magnolia and Basic Grey Challenges :-)

Before we go to my card I would just like to tell you that I didn't make the HM&F DT but wish the ones who got through the very best of luck :-) It was a tough competion and the successful ones were BRILL :-) I am a tad disappointed but I will get over it :-)

Martine has made a fabulous sketch for the Just Magnolia Challenge this week and I decided to combine it with the lovely colour scheme of red, green and blue on the Basic Grey Challenge ;-)



I used a new Tilda with flower wreath stamp ,,,, well she is an old one but new to me :-) I coloured her with copics and added copic glitter to the flowers, zip, toggles and shoes. I then 3D'd her onto a cream nestie oval. the papers are from the BG boxer pad. All of these items and the prima flowers and Martha Stewart leaf punch are from the Simon Says Stamp Store



The ribbons are from my drawer and the sentiment is from Funky Fairys Papercrafts

Simon Says All that Sparkles :-)

Thanks everyone for joining in our Get Well soon Challenge last week ,, I was sorry that some of you were poorly or had a poorly child to take care of ,,, hope you're all OK now x x

This week we have a fabulous challenge for you :-)
ALL THAT SPARKLES !! :-) Glitter, Gems,Charms, Glimmer mist, shiny paints, cardstock , glitter pens,ribbons,, oohh the list of possibilities is endless ;-)

Now the first things that came to mind with this challenge were either Christmas or Girly ,,, well ,,, I wanted to play with my lovely Tim Holtz goodies and this is what I came up with :-) I actually really like this and I am going to frame it and put it up in the loo ;-)



I started by making the background paper using black doot, dusty concorde and faded jeans distress inks. These were dabbed onto a craft sheet and sprayed with water. Then a piece of card was swirled around in it,, dried ,, then dabbed in the leftover ink , I repeated this step a couple of times. Then I sprayed it with some home made glimmer mist :-) In a small spray bottle I put a little water,, some drops of antique linen re inker ( the only re inker colour I have :-)) and a couple of small scoops of perfect pearls ,, I used a pale pink one :-)

When it was dry I stamped the Tim Holtz chandelier using Black soot ink, cut out using a nestie then smothered with clear Rock Candy crackle paint,, which was a lovely gift from Heidi as were the Basic Grey gems that I used. The gems are lovely ,, some are clear silvery and some are darker ,, more pewter colour ,,, gorgeous !! :-)
The papers are from Creative Expression, all the edges were inked with dusty concorde ink and distressed. I also used some black/grey coredinations for layering :-)



I added a few dots of black stickles to the chandelier,, a ribbon ,,, which was distressed with black ink too. I also used a chandelir charm to add even more sparkle. the text is also from a Tim holtz set :-)

For my card I used one of the lovely newly released Chloe digi images Isn't she cute :-) I printed 3 of these images so that I could 3D her for added touchy feeliness :-) I coloured her with copics and paper pieced her shopping bags :-)
All the papers are from the gorgeous Lets Get Traditional set I bought this a while ago and it has gorgeous papers in it ,, not just for christmas ! :-)



The oval Christmas text is also from Funky Fairys Papercrafts These are called Oval Punchem's and they are the right size for a SU oval punch :-) I added a flower, a charm, a ribbon, a button and loads of glitter and some liquid pearls for added textures :-)

Papertake Weekly Challenge Spots and Stripes GD card :-)

Oh I can't believe I am already into week 3 of my 4 weeks as GD on the Papertake Weekly Challenge :-) This week the theme is Spots and Stripes ;-) The first thing that popped into my head was Zebra's ,,'stripes !! ,, and as I have a fabulous set of Zoo Animals Vacation stamps I thought I should ink it up ! :-)




My friend's daughter has just got engaged and this card just sort of made itself into an engagement card ,,,, I didn't start with that intention in mind ,,, that just sort of happened by accident !! :-) I hope they like it !! It is unusual for an engagement card eh !!
A Zebra were stamped with memento ink, masked and then the background one was stamped. I coloured them a little with copics ,, making the boy one a bit darker :-) I added jewellery to the girl ,,, a diamond solitaite engagement ring ,,, :-)



The papers are Basic Grey Granola papers, the flowers are from prima ,, I sprayed them with home made glimmer mist ( few drops antique linen distress ink, water and perfect pearls )The lovely charm is from Blue Moon Metal Charm Tokens OX BRASS HEARTS and were a gift from Heidi at Simon Says Stamp The sentiment is from SU :-)

Sketch and Stash Challenge :-) 1st DT card :-)

I have been keeping a secret for the last week or so :-) Becky asked me to be on her DT for the Sketch and Stash Challenge :-) How fabulous is that wooo hooo !! :-) Of course I said YES immediately :-) I was their 1st Guest Designer and I have always been very grateful that they gave me my first break ,, I was very new to blogland then and didn't know anything !! :-) Thanks Becky and the DT for making me feel so welcome :-) I am really looking forward to getting to know everyone better :-)

I have just found out that my lovely blog buddy Pascale will be joining us as GD too :-) Congratulations Pascale,,, so well deserved :-) I am really looking forward to working with you too :-)

For the Sketch and Stash Challenge we ask that you follow the sketch and use either something new or old and neglected on your creation :-) I have just bought this Helz Cuppleditch stamp from Bunny Zoe's Crafts and the lovely paw print paper is by American traditional Designs which I bought on a recent visit to the UK,,, I bought 2 pieces so I could use one !!! :-)




I coloured the image with copics and inked the edges with antique linen distress ink. The dog patterned paper I have had for ages ,, that is from a DCWV Pet Stack. I used some craftwork chocolate drops in the corners. The ribbon and charm were from my stash :-)

Dawny P's Fabulous Blog Candy :-)

House Mouse Monday Challenge DT Call

Ok ,,, I have finally finished my 2 cards for the House Mouse Monday ChallengeDT call :=) The first up is the OTT one :-)

I have seen several easel cards around and thought I would have a go at making one :-) I love this idea ! :-)



I chose a stamp called Purrfect Nails for my cards :-) I coloured the image wih copics and 3D'd it ,, I made several layers. The papers are from My Minds Eye. I distressed the edges with worn lipstick and a stitch unpicker ( I don't have a proper tool and find that works really well :-))



I used some Dusky pink card and grey coredinations too. the fancy edge was punched using a Martha Stewart border punch. The flower is from Prima and I sprayed it with silver glimmer mist,, the flowers and the mist were gifts from Heidi at Simon Says Stamp,, so thanks Heidi :-) x x The flower looks lovely and shimmery but it doesn't show up too well in the piccy :-/ I added loads of pearls and shimmer dots ,, some wide satin pink ribbon from the habberdasherry and the silver ribbon is from Bunny Zoe's Crafts. I think the big bow is definitely OTT and did think more than twice about putting it on but when Ray asked if this card is the 'Minimalist' one I thought I'd better plonk it on :-)




I just took this side viwe to show the 3D ing :-)



The next up is the 'Simplicity' one ,,, we were asked to keep it simple so the image itself is the focus of attention. I decided to keep the colours clean and simple ,, mainly white with a black contrast :-) I used some Doodlebug glitter card and some gemstones white coredinations, a strip of Papermania handmade paper ,,, gorgeous !! a little bit of white lace and that was all. The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp Exclusives set :-)




I coloured the images with copics ,,, only using greys and a light purple colour and a greem :-)



I would like to thank everyone for your good wishes and for keeping things crossed for me :-) A special mention to Funky Fairy Anne who is also keeping her eyes crossed lol :-)

This has been alot of fun and as much as I hope I am chosen I wish my fellow finalists all the very best of luck too :-)
