Simon Says: Let There Be Snow

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

This week the the theme is

'Let There Be Snow'
We have a very special junior guest in the Designer Spotlight this month so please be sure to pop over to see what the lovely Cate has made, Cate is only 15years old and her work is AMAZEBALLS!! :-)

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

I has been admiring these Tim Holtz Village Dwellings for a while and am now in the process of making a whole Christmas village for my mantlepiece.

This is my first effort and I have learned a few things while making this so hopefully my next ones will be more 'finished' ;-) I have to say a huge thank you to the lovely Tim Holtz for taping such a great you tube video with great tips and instructions, I could never have done it without him :-)

For the roof I used Distress Watercolor card, inked with Pumice Stone Dustress Ink and then brushed over with perfect pearls, it looks very silvery and icy don't you think?

For the walls I used Corrugated card, coloured with Picket Fence Paint and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

I have popped a battery operated tea light inside so it has a lovely glow in the dark effect in dim lighting ;-)

Thanks for looking!

So now it's YOUR turn to get creating!

Do you use Instagram ?  If so please add  #sssmchallenge so we can see your entries there too

You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in

For your first TH village dwelling, this is amazing. I love how you were able to achieve the log cabin look so perfectly and the smoke coming out of the chimney is fabulous!

Lols, you did such a nice job with your little log cabin. The distressed texture on the building looks rustic. I like the simplicity of your display. My favorite part is the smoke coming out of the chimney. :-)

I knew you would enjoy those dies! This house is gorgeous Lols! I love the finish of the house itself and the roof is stunning. I keep forgetting to put battery driven tea lights in my houses, thank you for reminding me.

This looks amazing! You are so full of winter wonder with these projects! I love how the hanging icicles and snow on the roof really give this piece a cozy feel. And the red door makes me want to knock on it and see the artsy person who lives inside!
