Sketch and Stash Challenge # 33

This week Becky has made another fabulous sketch for us to follow :-)

I used this lovely, but neglected, Froggy Gift image from High Hopes, I coloured him with copics and juat ind around the edges with green pigment ink. the papers are new Bo Bunny and the buttons are Basic Grey :-)

Totally Papercrafts Distressing Challenge :-)

I am hoping Mr Blogger does his job and posts this for me because I am on a flight to London at the moment :-)

This time it was my turn to choose the theme on the Totally Papercrafts Challenge and I chose 'Distressing'

Some of the DT are quite distressed at having to distress their lovely papers :-)

We are being sponsored this week by the super-talented Sally-Ann from the Digi Stamp Boutique and all the DT were given images to use :-)



I chose this lovely Spring Coco image :-) I coloured it with copics and inked the edges with spiced marmalade ink. The papers are Stamping Up that have been sprayed with glimmer mist inked with distress ink , torn and distressed with a edge distesser ( aka stitch unpicker ! :-)
The flowers were a birthday gift from my Simon says Stamp teammate Iris and the ribbon was in my stash :-)

Simon Says ,,,,,, Card for a Child :-)

Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for our Distressing challenge, we had lots of gorgeous entries :-)

This week our challenge is to Make a Card for a Child


The Design team have all used stamps by Boefjes on their creations. You don't have to but we would like to see you use them if you have them :-)

The Design Team are also sending their cards to a child through Post Pals or Make a Child Smile. The children are all suffering from various illnesses and these cards help to put a smile on their face and also help to distract them while having to undergo often painful treatments. We would like you all to make your card for the challenge and send it to a sick child too :-)

Heidi will be giving away a $25 shopping spree to the Simon Says Stamp Store and she will pay for the shipping too :-)



For my card I used a Boefje stamp called Suzanne, isn't she lovely :-) I made a beach scene in the background using a Simon Says Stamp exclusives set :-) The image was coloured with copics and Suzanne was cut out and popped in the foreground.
The papers are Basic Grey and the flower is Prima which has been sprayed with pearl glimmer mist. I used a sandal charm and a few Robins Nest Dew drops too :-) The sentiment is also from a Simon Says Stamp exclusive sentiment set :-) The flip flops are stickers and were a RAK from a blog buddy :-) Perfect finishing touch I thought :-)

ABC Christmas 'H' for Holly Challenge

We had lots of lovely entries to our Glitz Challenge over the last 2 weeks, thanks to everyone who entered :-)
It was Helen) ">Helen's turn to choose the theme for the next fortnight and she chose

H FOR HOLLY with the optional extra of following a sketch :-)

We are joined by our new Guest Designer, Delphine :-) If you haven't visited her blog you should really go to see it, her work is fabulous :-)

For my card I used my lovely Sarah Kay stamp , I do love this one :-) I coloured the image with copics then dabbed it with the tip of the blender pen to try to create a velvet look ! I then added polar white flower soft to the trims for 'fur' :-)
The edges were inked with antique linen distress ink. I used liquid pearls for the holly berries and stickles for sparkle :-)




The papers are My Minds Eye and SU Close to Cocoa card. I used a Martha Stewart holly punch and Hero Arts red gems for berries. The flowers are Tim Holts Prima Poinsettia's

Papertake Weekly Challenge ,,,,,Dawny's Sketch :-)

WOW what a fabulous lot of entries we had last week, I think you all joined in :-)

I used this lovely Tilda image, coloured with copics, cut out and popped on the Nellie Snellen Frame. The backround was inked with distress ink. The papers are Basic Grey and the butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch :-) I didn't add the text element as Tilda has the sentiment on her knee and another one just didn't look right :-)

2 cards for a few Challenges :-)

The first card was made following Martine's fab sketch on the Basic Grey Challenge :-)



I used my new Lili Of The Valley Wedding stamp that I won on the LOTV Challenge :-) thanks xx The theme is to use silver and blue and I immediately thought 'Wedding' but for some reason my card turned pink, though there is blue on it :-)
I coloured the image with copics and added stickles to the flowers. the edges were inked with spun sugar distress ink.
The papers are Basic Grey Sugar Rush and silver stardream.



The next card I am entering into the Just Cute Bears Challenge,,, Yellow and Green



I won this cute Cuddly Buddly stamp on the Just Cute Bears Challenge :-) thank you x The image was coloured with copics and stickles added for sparkle :-) This is a small 10x10cm card and I used up scraps of paper from the Wild Rose Studio on this one :-)

I am also entering this into the Magical Crafts Fortnightly Challenge whose theme is Animal Antics

I am off to a very good start ! We went out for dinner last night and when I came home I checked blogland ,, as you do ,,, and found out that I had won the Peggy Loves Vintage Easter Competition. I used a Mo Manning digi image for my card, I have had this for ages and never got around to using it so I thought it was about time ! :-) I coloured the image with copics and added stickles for sparkle,, nothing new there !! The papers are digi downloads from Funkly Fairys that are now available on Simply Shaz's blog for a limited time. I used Martha Stewart border and butterfly punches and the gorgeous ribbon was from the USA but can't remember the site ! The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp Exclusives set

Wild Rose Studio DT + Sketch Saturday Challenge :-)

I made this card following Jo's gorgeous layout on the Sketch Saturday Challenge :-)



I used my lovely Cat and Flowers stamp from the Wild Rose Studio. The papers are from there too :-) Dulcie, the owner now supplies to several shops so if you click on the link you will find a list of stockists ;-) She also has some fabulous new designs out too and am hoping to get a couple of them soon :-)) I coloured the image with copics and added glitter pen and stickles for sparkle :-)



I used a technique I learned on a recent copics course too. If you colour the image, then drop a couple of drops of blender solution onto an old towel ,, then dab the image it gives a furry texture :-)

My New Sarah Kay stamp :-)

I bought one or 2 of the latest release Sarah Kay stamps from Simon Says Stamp and this is the first one to get an inking :-)




This stamp is called Olivia with her kittens Kikki and Sugar, the whole new range are just lovely :-) I coloured her with copics and used a Nellie Snellen frame. the papers are My Minds Eye and the flowers are Prima sprayed with pearl glimmer as usual ! :-) The Punch Em sentiments, as well as many of the Funky Fairys papers are now available again on Simply Shaz's own blog :-) I also added a couple dew drops ,,, love those :-)




no card is complete without stickles ,,, so I used loads :-)

Peggy Love's Vintage Easter Contest :-)

I have made this card to enter a fabulous Contest on the Peggy Loves Vintage blog. To enter you need to download and print this gorgeous bunny image and then make whatever you like :-) Easy !! :-) The image printed facing the oposite direction on my printer ,, I have no idea why !! All the DT girls did it right !! :-)

The spotty paper is from a Wild Rose Studio paper pad and I used a strip of red from basic Grey too. The scalloped border was made using an SU punch. The flower is Prima , sprayed with pearl glimmer mist and the glimmer dots ribbon were from my stash. The bow was made using a bow easy ,,, fab gadget ! :-)

There is a lovely insert that you print to pop in your card too ,, I have used it but forgot to take a piccy :-) It is lovely though ,, you can see it on the Peggy Loves Vintage blog. It finished the card off perfectly ! :-)

This is a piccy of the fabulous prize on offer but you have to be quick the competition closes on Friday !!!! :-)

ABC 'R' for RED Challenge

I love messing about with ink :-) I may not be very good at it but I do enjoy doing it ! Tim makes it look so easy doesn't he !



I have recently had a lovely shopping spree at the Simon Says Stamp Store, mainly in the Tim Holtz section, and bought all the new colours of distress inks and they are GORGEOUS ! I also bought some tags to go with them ,,, and some other bits and bobs ,, well ,, things just fall into your basket ,,, and it was my birthday so I could go a bit mad eh !! :-) I think we need shopping trolleys not baskets on these web sites !! :-)



I used stormy sky and victorian velvet distress inks sprayed with water then the tags dropped into it ,,, there is a fab video tutorial on Tim Holts's blog showing this technique, there are several video tutorals on there which are brilliant and you should see them if you haven't already ! :-) I did some masking and and then applied ink directly over the mask to give some design to the tags. I then stamped images from my new Urban Chic set, added various Tim Holtz ideology bits and fragments.



I really did enjoy making these and am definitely going to join in with Tim's 12 days of Christmas Tag Challenge this year :-)
