Paper Rose Texture 2

Hi all!Welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

This week the theme is

Make Your Own Background

As it’s the first Monday of the month we are showcasing a brand/company. This week we are using some fabulous products from Paper Rose. You don’t have to use them to join in with the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

The lovely folks over at Simon Says Stamp are generously giving away a FABULOUS $25 voucher to shop at the  Simon Says Stamp Store! All you have to do is take out your crafty supplies, make something following this week’s prompt, and add a link in the Inlinkz  on the challenge blog post!

You can join 5 times so you could have 5 chances to win! How AWESOME is that!! All winners are chosen randomly, so everyone has an equal chance to win! Woo Hoo!! Good Luck to everyone! The Design Team is looking forward to seeing your creative makes and will pop around to visit you ASAP!

This week we are welcoming the lovely Sandra Rupp aka SR Paper Love   into the Designer Spotlight. If you haven't visited her blog before then you are in for a real treat! Please pop over to say hi! :-)

I made a card using Paper Rose Texture 2 and Stitched Eucalyptus Dies. You may need to wear your shades before scrolling down, it is quite bright ;-)

I really had fun making this background! I started with White Yupo Paper and Dandelion, Coral and Sublime Pearls Alcohol Inks. I sprinkled a few drops of Alcohol Blending Solution and chased the inks around with an environmentally friendly Bamboo Drinking Straw. While the ink was still puddled in places I applied a layer of Gold Foil and buffed it with a Teflon Bone Folder (best tool ever!!) so that it would stick to the wet ink. Isn't it GORGEOUS!!

I then used the Paper Rose Texture 2 die and cut a panel from the background and made a shaker.  I blended Mowed Lawn Oxide Ink over the Stitched Eucalyptus  and used black archival to add some script design onto the leaves, I then layered with black cardstock wo give it a more 3D look.

I used a Tim Holtz Celebration Words Die for the sentiment and added a couple of remnant rub butterflies and a few black gems to finish.

I had a little strip of the backgound paper left over so rather than throwing it away I used it to decorate the envelope, a little touch but I think it makes the card more special, what do you think?

Thanks for looking :-)

So now it's YOUR turn!

Do you use Instagram ?  If so please add  #sssmchallenge so we can see your entries.

Yes, it is gorgeous! Using alcohol inks this way makes the best backgrounds and the gold foil compliments it perfectly. Have a great week!

It's gorgeous, Lols. That's a nice die and I love the fact that you stamped it. Love the foil addition and I really like the envelope idea. My Swiss friend always sends me things in decorated envelopes and I so appreciate them. Lovely art.
