This week we are challenging you to create something with your garden or park as your inspiration
In My Garden
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 gift voucher to one randomly selected winner to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
It is Stacy's last week with us in the Designer Spotlight and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your fabulous creations over the past few weeks. It has been a pleasure to have you along with us!
I recently picked up a Dina Wakley Media Journal on my trip to Simon HQ and couldn't wait to dive right in and make a start with filling in the pages! she used the new Paper Artsy Jofy 61 stamp set combined with Zig Brush Pens to add a vibrant modern and funky design.
I love the bright colours of spring and summer and for the backgound I spritzed and splattered with Tim Holtz Distress and Dyan Reaveley's Ink Sprays.
I then used a Paper Artsy Stencil, Embossing Paste, coloured with Lucky Clover Distress Oxide ink and then sprinkled with love glitter for the leaves. I also used a Paper Artsy Eclectica 3 Stencil and Forest Moss Distress Oxide to add some background foliage.
I also used a Paper Artsy Mini Mask along with Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemon Oxide Inks to add a little sunshine.
I coloured the flowers with Zig Color Real Brushes, added a few drops of different coloured Nuvo Drops here and there and sprinkled a few granules of Slime Infusions across the bottom to create a meadow floor and added a couple of strips of washi tape.
I went to see an Impressionist Exhibition at the Tate Britain Art Gallery in London and I was inspired by the way Claude Monet painted the backgrounds of his Water Lilies in random, quite dreamy techniques so I sort of tried to replicate this with splatters. Not quite the same thing I know ,,,, ;-) But I thought I would pay tribute to him in my small way and I thought that this quote was quite fitting for the challenge theme. He is obviously very well known fo his paintings of his garden in Giverny France :-)
