Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Take Note Challenge and we hope you will join in with us this week too!
This week we are challenging you to create distress your project and give it a grungy look.
GRUNGE IT UP
definition: informal Grime; dirt. .You can achieve this by simply distressing the edges and adding inks
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 gift voucher to one randomly selected winner to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
Please pop by to see what our fabulous gust Stacy and the DT have made! Grunge-Tastic Creations! ;-)
I made a set of 3 tags using Tim Holtz's new Side-Kick Side Orders, the Birthday tag being the most grunge worthy I think ;-)
I love these die and embossing folder sets, a perfect size for tags!! LOVE them!!
First up is the Birthday Side Order .I used Distress Oxide Inks in Walnut Stain, Broken China and Faded Jeans smooshing them individually onto a craft sheet and dabbing the tag into the ink, drying between each layer with a heat tool.
I coloured some White Embossing Paste with the Faded Jeans Ink and used a new Tim Holtz Stitches Layering Stencil to add some texture, while the paste was still wet I sprinkled a little Prisma Glitter, well every birthday should have sparkle don't you think ;-)
I blended Faded Jeans Ink and a little Walnut Stain onto a 2nd strip of paper and used the little embossing folder that comes in the set to add some more texture. I added a couple of strips of washi tape and then popped the heat embossed 'wish' on top.
I used scraps of paper from a Tim Holtz Paper Pack for the he party hat and balloons and popped a Star Adornment near the top to finish.
Next up is a tag made using a Side-Kick Travel Side Order . I think I will attach this to my hand luggage the next time I travel! ;-)
I used the same techniques as above, using Broken China and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks. I stamped a design using a 49 and Market Adventures Stamp Set with Archival Ink. I love the design of this, like tiny splatters with a star burst.
I inked the little embossing folder, which comes with the set with Versafine ink and debossed the design directly along the bottom of the tag.
I used White Embossing paste and a Tim Holtz Dashes Layering Stencil for this one. While the paste was still wet I sprinkled WOW Cloud 9 Embossing Powder and heat set
and last but not least for this one I used a Springtime Side Order and a combination of Squeezed Lemonade and Twisted Citron Distress Oxide Inks. I then sprinkled with a few grains of 'A Bit Jaded' Infusions
I think this one is my fave ,,, ;-)
Thanks for looking!

What a fabulous tag trio! I loved seeing the variety you brought to the table. These are unified, yet they each have their own personality. I think the words you chose to incorporate were especially powerful and I find these both lovely and empowering!
Yeah the B-day one seems to be the most grungy but I love them all. Great set of tiny sweeties. Lovely colors and the textures on the backgrounds. You go, girl! Hugs, Marzena
They are ALL fabulous - and grungy in their own way! I really like the last one and the bright green - an Easter tag! The b/day one is fabulous though - and just right for our challenge! Thanks for playing along with us at Unstampabelles and hope to see you back soon!
This trio of tags is SO cute! I love the colors and how you put each of them together so precisely but yet kept the trio cohesive.
