Simon Says: Make Your Own Background On The Monday Challenge

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

This week we are challenging you to

Make Your Own Background

This week we are showcasing the super talented Dyan Reaveley's range of Dylusions Products
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

This month we have invited the super talented Linda Kunsman aka Heartfully Inspired into the Designer Spotlight. If you haven't visited her blog before then you are in for a real treat! Please pop by to say 'Hi' and to leave her a nice comment.

I made a tag using a variety of Dylusions Products which I will link in the cinlinkz at the bottom of this post.

I really don't have a preconceived idea of what I am making before I start crafting. I decided on what will be the main focus and work from there, it sort of evolves as it goes along. For most of the time I think it looks awful but then I keep going until I am happy with the way it looks. If you are a little bit daunted by mixed media I would really urge you to have a go. It's not as scary as you think and it is a lot of fun! GO FOR IT!! ;-)

I scribbled the Distress Crayons over the tag and blended with a spritz of water and my fingers, I then used stamps and stencils with distress inks to add text, circles and a border design.

I used a How Does Your Garden Grow stamp set for the bird and the flowers and used distress inks to color.

I finished with some Big Chat stickers. Ta Da!! ;-)

Although we do accept all genres on this challenge it would be awesome if you would embrace the world of mixed media and get out your inks, stencils, texture pastes etc and give it a whirl ;-)

Thanks for looking!

So now it's YOUR turn to get creating!

Do you use Instagram ?  If so please add  #sssmchallenge so we can see your entries there too

You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in

What a happy and charming tag! I especially like how you did the colors with the green concentrated at the bottom to form your birdie scene. I also really like how used two different sizes of dots/circles. I always enjoy seeing the details of your projects and this is full of little goodies!
