Simon Says Stamp Monday 'Based On A Book' Challenge

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

This week we are challenging you to create something

Based On A Book

You can interpret this challenge in many ways, you can use pages of a book as part of your project or use the theme of a book as your inspiration. We will be looking forward to seeing where this challenge takes you!
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
This is Nicola's last week with us in the Designer Spotlight and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your creations over the past few weeks. It has been a great pleasure to have you along with us :-)

Please pop by to leave her some love :-)

One of my all time favorite books is The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy and I decided to use 'my precious' as the inspiration for my bookmark ;-)

I used a Ringer Stencil and Bubble Stencil along with a Simon's exclusive Ring Frame Die embossed in gold.

I started by covering a plain pice of Kraft cardstock with Hickory Smoke,Rusty Hinge and Picket Fence distress crayons and then used Hickory Smoke distress ink and the  Ringer Stencil over the top to create a lovely design. I then used Gold Pigment ink and the circle stamps from a Paper Artsy Eclectica 3 stamp set to create more interest.

I then used a Bubble Stencil and Nuvo Mother Of Pearl Mousse over the top, while it was still wet I sprinkled with Nuvo Gold Shine Sparkle Dust .

I added a Ring Frame Die to cut out a pice of thick card and gold heat embossed twice to give it a lovely thick coating. I finished with some Big Chat stickers!

If you have never ready the books then I suggest that you do. The films are fantastic, but they are never as good as the book where your imagination helps to create the story ;-)

I was hoping to make another bookmark using 'To Kill A Mocking Bird' as my theme, using a Crazy Bird with his legs in the air but I ran out of time, I hope to be back later with that version ;-)

So now it's YOUR turn to get creating!

Do you use Instagram ?  If so please add  #sssmchallenge so we can see your entries there too

You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in

Challenges:
Crafty Friends,    All that Glitters
Crazy 4 Challenges.  Use Your Words (words the focal point)
A Vintage Journey.  Words That Are Special

Love this bookmark, Lols. This series of books was, and still is, my son's favorite. I think he's read them three or four times over. Love it!

I love his, the embossing on the die cut makes it look like real metal, and the stamped circles continue the theme into the background. Thank you for sharing at Ooh La La Creations

What a great take on this week's challenge! I adore all things Tolkien and C.S. Lewis and I loved how you used Gollum as your inspiration! Not sure he's ever inspired a crafty bookmark before, but I sure love how this turned out. So clever to use the ring die to go with that ring theme!
