Simon Says: Nautical/By The Sea

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Flora and Fauna Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is

Nautical/By The Sea

Summer is here and what nicer place to be than down by the coast! Whether you enjoy a boat trip out on the open waves or maybe you prefer to dip your toes in the sea while enjoying a refreshing ice cream. Which option do you prefer to use for your inspiration? We will be looking forward to seeing what you make!

Although we do accept all styles this really is the challenge to get out your inks and paints and have a go at a more mixed media, artsy style. The main thing is to stretch your boundaries and  have fun!

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

I really enjoyed making this card and used the beautiful Ramla Bay for my inspiration. CLICK HERE is you would like to see it ;-)

I started by blending Tumbled Glass Ink over a piece of watercolor paper  and then used a torn paper to make  a mask. I then used a little Spiced Marmalade and Squeezed Lemonade to create a sunrise/sunset and then I added a little Salty Ocean Ink to create the sea.

I used a Starlight Stencil to create some errr snowflakes, this is global warming gone mad lol, just call it artistic license haha ;-) I used some felt and tissue wrap for the cloud.

and now for the naughty bit, the message in the bottle, haha. This is from an F Bomb Stamp Set, which is a bit naughty but I love it :-D

I finished the inside using the same inks and stencil

As you know I have only been with the Monday Challenge for a short while and I am learning so much and having a lot of fun just 'having a go' ! I really would like to encourage you to have a go with mixed media if you haven't already,  you never know, you might find that you like it!! ;-)

So now it's YOUR turn, Happy Crafting

Do you use Instagram ?  If so please add  #sssmchallenge so we can see your entries there too

Your attentions to details amaze me! That "snowflake" stenciled dots are perfect for the sea scene (I am with you on the global warming)! As for the message in the bottle....LOL, it cracked me up! It sure can apply to what's going on with the world events right now. Thanks for the smile:).......

....(still smiling...).

How clever to incorporate a nautical (or should I say naughty-cal) theme into your birthday card? The message in the bottle was indeed a surprise that will be sure to make the recipient laugh! I suspect that is how one would feel if shipwrecked...or when getting a year older!

So, I am wondering Lols, just who is getting the naughty card?! Someone will have a good surprise when they read the message in the bottle! :) Totally a fun little card with the sail boat! hugs, Maura
