Simon Says: Try To Resist On The Monday Challenge

newchallenge

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the We Can See Clearly Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week we are challenging you to

TRY TO RESIST

Definition: Resist techniques in art use the incompatibility of two mediums to create layered effects with color and texture.
There are so many products that we can use to create a resist, Embossing PowderCrayonsMolotow PensMasking Fluids and many more. We will be looking forward to seeing what you use!

I started with a piece of Ranger Watercolor Paper and heat embossed some of Tim Holtz Wildflower Stamps using Clear Embossing Powder before inking with a selection of Distress Inks. I then used a hot iron and scrap paper to remove the melted powder.

I then repeated the process leaving ghost like flowers in the background. I then randomly stamped script text and spritzed with Picket Fence Distress Spray and splattered with Dylusions Calypso Teal Ink before using Embossing Paste and a Dot Fade Stencil to complete the background.

I used some Corrugated Card, from a Textured Surfaces Pack, smudged with Gesso for layering. I stitched around the edges and added a die cut Wildflower, embossed with White Embossing Powder, doesn't it look lovely! :-) I am really happy with how this turned out!

So now it's YOUR turn!

This is absolutely amazing, Lorraine! You're doing great with mixed media techniques! The mix of corrugated cardboard with this beautiful soft blue is fabulous. Great white and black accents. I totally LOVE this card. What a pity my B-day was in January :-( Hugssssss, Marzena

The delicate colors you used are really complimentary and the corrugated cardstock was an excellent way to frame your design. What a clever idea to use a touch of gesso on the edges.

This turned out SO PERFECT! I really adore your mastery of subtle colors and the way you paired the silhouette flower with the grungier-looking cardboard. Genius on all levels!
