Simon Says Recycle/Upcycle Style

newchallenge

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

We are welcoming 4 new Design Team members this week, KathZoeyCathie, and Macarena! Please give them a nice warm welcome and pop by their blogs to say 'Hi'

This week the challenge is,

RECYCLE/UPCYCLE STYLE

With the throw away society that we live in we thought we should take a look through our 'rubbish' and use something that we would normally put in the bin!

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

I like to make marmalade so throughout the year I collect jars of all shapes and sizes. I always think it's a shame to throw them in the recycle bin and prefer to re-use them whenever possible. So with that in mind I made one into a romantic candle holder.

I started by tearing a strip of  tissue wrap and inked the edges with gathered twigs distress ink before adhering to the jar with multi medium matte glue.

I then inked a die cut heart parade with tarnished brass distress paint and adhered this over the top.

I wrapped some twine around the rim and added a brass tinted rose and a few gold sequins for extra glamour. Perfect for a romantic dinner setting don't you think!

and here it is all lit up :-)

So now it's YOUR turn, Happy Crafting

Really pretty candle holder and a great way to recycle. The sequins must make a lovely twinkle when the candle is lite. Thank you for sharing your work with all of us at Crafty Boots Challenges.

This is genius, Lols! I would never in a million years think to add sequins to a candle holder, but now I want to go find every boring candle holder in the house and bling it up! This really is lovely and it was a bonus to be able to see it in the daylight and at night.
