Simon Says ,,,,, Make your own Embellishments

Wow, thank you so much to everyone who joined in with our "Anything But a Card" challenge last week. You gave me some fab ideas !! all I need now is more time to make them but I definitely will be 'CASE' ing a few :-)

This week, our challenge is

MAKE YOUR OWN EMBELLISHMENT !

As usual our lovely boss Heidi will be giving one lucky entrant a $50 spree to her Simon Says Stamp store. New goodies are arriving everyday in the store so there is no better time to take part and be in with a chance of winning our fantastic prize !!!

For my card I used Hero Arts Sew Stylish , Sew Artsy Friends Definition and Tags and Tickets sets stamp sets.

I stamped the 'stitching' onto a craft coloured card using Rich Cocoa Memento ink I then embossed the upper half to add texture and then swiped Antique Linen Distress ink over the ridges to highlight. I then made the background for the image ,, this was made by stamping the 'Friends' background stamp onto Sticky Backed Canvas
and then inked it with the antique linen distress ink too. The image was coloured with Copics and her dress was paper pieced with Basic Grey Sugar Rush paper. I also plugged in my sewing machine and did some real sewing :-)

I made buttons using grungeboard coloured with distress ink, one was covered in BG paper, all were then smothered with Glossy Acccents. I also made a handbag using Shrink Plastic and the little pocket on the sewing machine and the 'tape measure' ribbon are made with Sticky Back Canvas

For my card I used a Mo's Digi Pencil Kai in the Snow image. I coloured the image with Copics, then masked it and used my fab new Copic airbrush + an air compressor to colour the background , I love it !! I then used Diamond Dust for 'snow'. The papers are Kaiser Crafts and I used a Martha Stewart Icicle border punch, a Himalayan snowflake punch, some spotty organza ribbon and a snowflake charm that was a gift from HM teamie America :-) I printed the sentiment on my comp :-)

I used this super cute Rosie with Cake stamp ,, isn't she gorgeous :-) I followed Dawny's fab sketch on the LOTV Challenge, I coloured her with Copics and used Art Institute crystal glitter and Star Dust stickles for sparkle. The papers are 3 Bugs in a Rug and I used an EK Success Daisy Scallop border punch, some Prima Flowers, sprayed with Pearl Glimmer mist, ribbon and cupcake charm from my stash and a few gems for extra bling :-)

House Mouse and Friends Monday Challenge ,,,

Hi all :-) Happy Valentine's Day :-) I hope you all receive a card and maybe a lovely bunch of flowers ,,, I haven't got anything ,, yet ,,,I am still hopefull but not holding my breath lol :-)

This was a really difficult one for me ,,, I don't have favourites I love them all ,,, so I just chose the one I wanted to use ,,,, !!

I used this very cute House Mouse Fragrant Shower image ,, this is a huge stamp so not much space for embellies ,,, :-) I stamped the image twice so that I could make part of it into a shaker card without too much faffing about :-) I coloured the image with Copics and added my fave Star Dust stickles here and there, I inked around the edges with 2 colours of green Distress ink. The papers are Kaiser Craft ,,, not that you can see much of it ,,, but it is lovely ,,, :-) I used a MS border punch and a small heart punch to make confetti in the shaker :-)

Our lovely GD Anne aka Stargroves and the DT have all made gorgeous cards and one even baked cookies ,,, yum !! I will pop the kettle on ,,,, :-) Pop by the HM&F Monday Challenge to see them :-)

Less Is More Challenge ,,,, err !!!!

OK , in my defense ,,, it's late and this took me all of 2 mins to make ,, no effort here and it shows ,,, I don't know what I was thinking scoring those lines ,,,

Chrissie ,,, DT girlie on the Less Is More Challenge asked me to try to make a bigger card and make the sentiment less prominent,,, so I have but I think I need to rethink this ,,, so maybe I will be back tomorrow with another effort :-) I really appreciate Chrissie pointing me in the right direction , thanks for your constructive criticism ,, I really appreciate it xx :-)

I will use this as a notecard ,,, it is not totally dreadful eh !!! :-)

Simple card for the Less Is More Challenge,, not an embellie in sight !!! :-)

It is the Less Is more Challenge's 2nd week and as I sort of overdid it last week I thought I would give it another go !! :-) I am really hoping that I will get better at this 'look' as I do love it and wish I could do it better. So here is my attempt !!

The theme is One Layer Card with Flowers or Trees.

I have had this Stampendous stamp for ages, think it is discontinued now ,,, !! I coloured it with copics and added a little pearlescent chalk around the edges to soften them a bit. I couldn't resist adding some stickles here and there and a drop of glossy accents too !! The sentiment is from Papermania, I embossed this with clear EP. I need to make some quick and easy multi use cards, these are only 10x10cm,, so I thought I would make a few more ,,, what do you think ,,, are they OK ,,, or is it back to the drawing board ?? :-)

Hi again ,,back with a card for the Stamp Something Challenge :-) The theme this week is perfect for combining !!

I love the WOJ Gnome images especially ,,, very cute :-) I followed the fab sketch on the Create 4 Fun Challenge Iused my A Little Bit Of Magic image, coloured with Copics, using mainly C00, C0 and some reds. The papers are from 3 Bugs In a Rug and red SU card. I embossed a circle with a Swiss Dots folder, stitched all the edges and added Star Dust Stickles. I used my Cricut to cut the 'Love' and added a Grungeboard Die Cut heart ,, coloured and stickled , a ribbon, slider and Dew Drops to finish :-)

For my card I used this cute Meljen Designs Happy Panda image I wanted to keep it as simple as possible so I stuck to a Black/ White combo. I coloured the image with Copics and the papers are mainly just plain white card ,I embossed a panel with a distressed stripes folder and added a strip of spotty Doodlebug. The gingham ribbon is Papermania. I added Star Dust Stickles and a few drops of Black Enamel accents for faux pearls ,, I also dotted some Glossy Accents on his nose :-)

I haven't joined in WOYWW for ages ,,, Wednesdays are a busy day for me and I don't usually have the time ,,, but I intend to make it a point every week from now on ,,,, :-) I do love having a snoop around other peeps crafty places and know that I am not the only oine who lives in a complete mess !!! My excuse is that if I tidy up then my mojo goes too ,,, well ,, it MIGHT !!! ,, so not gonna risk it !! :-)


Well ,, my new bit of fabby kit is right there ,,, an air compressor !! I LOVE it ,, I was REALLY brave and turned it on although I did use a copic that I had 2 of just in case I blew it up :-) Can you see what I am about to work on ,, can you guess what challenge that will be for lol :-) oohh and my fabby new ATG gun !! no more cards falling to bits !! YAY !!



Do you like me new mug ?? , it says 'HOLLYWOOD' on it ! ,, I bought that in the gift shop at the hotel we stayed at for the CHA ,, It is HUGE and perfect for my tea :-)

Good Morning all :-) Hope you are all well and ready for a new theme on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge :-)

We have some fabby news ,,Kathy Racoosin who is also a designer for Penny Black has agreed toi join the team !! Woo Hoo !! It was so lovely to get to meet her when I was at the CHA,, please pop by her blog to say hello and see her wonderful creations,,The Daily Marker. Welcome aboard Kathy :-)

THANK YOU for all your entries last week !! We had over 600 entries !! Woo Hoo !! Now I know that the theme this week is a little more tricky ,,, but lets face it ,,, how many more cards do we need stuffed in boxes !!! Make something else for a change !!! How about a nice wall hanging for your room or a little gift for someone special :-)

Tim Holtz made this tag at the CHA as a demo using Distress Stain, his new Papillon stamp set,an ideology Plaquette and a Pen Nib the Ribbon is from Tim's ideology range too. This is my keepsake and I will be popping it in the album :-)

For my creation I decided to make a scrapbook album of my trip to the wonderful City of Angels ,,, Los Angeles !! :-)

It was so nice to get down and inky with my Tim Holtz goddies ( edited ,,, goddies ?? was that a Freudian slip !! lol ,,, GOODIES !! ),,, something I haven't done for AGES but I am going to keep it up !! I REALLY enjoyed myself . The basic album was made using an old Bind -It -All machine but I saw the fab Cinch from We R Memories at the CHA and LOVED it ,, much easier to use. I used fab paper from a Tim Holtz Lost and Found Paper Stack, Tag, Distress Inks, Die Cut Grungeboard Elements. I inked these with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and then embossed with Vintage Photo Distress powder,, they look rusty eh !! I also used Timeworks Mask, ( this covered up an oopsie !! I had made 3 black pearls in the bottom right corner with Enamel Accents, then leaned over and smudged it all over my cardi !! what a mess I made ,, I tried to remove the splodge and it went from bad to worse !! ,, don't look too close !!! :-)) Mini Ornates Stamps, and Weathered Clock stamp Game Spinners, Film Strip Ribbon, I stamped CHA on that :-) I used a Bottle top and epoxy sticker, a brand new range that will be available to buy in the Simon Says Stamp Store ,, I was lucky to get a couple of samples ,, I did beg the nice man on the Bottle Top booth :-)!! I used a 1" punch to punch out an angel from a Tattered Angel catalogue and topped with a clear epoxy sticker.! I almost forgot ,, all the edges were inked with distress inks and distressed with a Tim Holtz paper distresser, fab tool :-)

A card at last !! :-) I bought an air compressor today and HAD to plug it in to make sure it worked ,,, I was worried that I might blow up my copics so I used a duplicate but it was OK ,, fabby in fact !! :-)

I did mention in an earlier post that we are sponsored by Whiff of Joy and one lucky entrant will win a lovely stamp,see earlier post or go to the Papertake Weekly Challenge blog to see it :-)

ADD A HEART !! easy peasy :-)

I really wanted to play with my compressor so I stamped and cut out some Hero Arts fluffy clouds and stuck them to white card with temporary adhesive spray ,,, then I went to town airbrushing !! :-) I used a very cute Penny Black Gifts for You stamp, which I masked too and created an airbrushed background :-) I coloured the image with Copics and added Star Dust stickles, a charm and a few white Robin's Nest Dew Drops for bling :-) The DP is from Bo Bunny, the flower is Prima, sprayed with Pearl Glimmer Mist and I stamped the sentiments with alphabet sets in brown Memento ink. For the flower center I cut out the 'Love Is' and inked the edges slightly with pink chalk ink, then used an epoxy sticker ( coming soon to Simon Says Stamp along with loads of bottle tops !! )

This is my compressor ,,, fab eh !! Expect to see loads of airbrushing in the coming days ,,,, :-)

CHA piccy's :-)

What a fabulous time I had at the CHA !!! The highlight of the trip was meeting the Simon Says Stamp team !! It was just so nice to finally get to meet the people I have been emailing for such a long time !!
Unfortunately not sure what was wrong with my camera but lots of photo's are just not there, so I don't have so many to show you :-( ,,, this one was taken from the Simon Says Stamp blog ,, although one was taken with my camera it is not there !!
On the photo above there is Lin, (a friend of Linda's), Steph, Heidi, Sarah and Me and Linda in front :-) we had a lovely lunch together and it was so nice to get to know each other :-)

This was the entrance to the fabulous CHA trade show !!

It was so nice to meet the lovely Michelle O at the Stampavie booth :-) The new stamps are fabulous too ,,, soo cute !!

AND I saw a few of Tim's fab demo's ,,, here again my photography skills failed and most were very blurred :-( ,,,I think it was me, not my camera that was at fault !! I think I must have just had the wrong settings on !! Tim has some fab new products being released ,, stamps, papers,, inks and lots of embellies ,,, absolutely MUST HAVES ,, you can see them here on the Simon Says Stamp Blog

This was a fab creation made by Tim using alot of his new products ,,,fab eh !!

These are made using Wendy Vecchi's Art Parts ,,, fabulous products !! we definitely need these too !!

And last but not least here is Heidi and her hubby Jason who are AWESOME !!! They really were fabulous and made me feel so welcome, I can't tell you how brilliant it was ,, you would have had to have been there !!! A fantastic experience from start to finish !! :-)
