A Trio Of Something
As this is the first challenge of the month we are showcasing a particular brand/designer. this week we have all used something designed by the lovely Dyan Reaveley. You don't have to use her products to join in, but if you have something then we would love to see them used

We are welcoming the lovely and super talented Paula Roomer aka PaNaRoo into the Designer Spotlight. Paula is very new to blogging and I am sure she would love to see some people pop by her blog to leave some love and to become a follower too. Lets all give this talented designer a real big Simon boost!
I made a trio of cards using a trio of birds from a Dyan Reaveley Cat Among The Pigeons Stamp Set.
It is ages since I had a play with my Gelli Plate so I thought I would dig it out and used Dylusions Acrylic Paints and a Holes Stencil to create a really funky background.
I used a Gel Press 4" Brayer so smooth out the paint, then layer the stencil over the top and then a piece of watercolour paper and this was the effect, lovely isn't it! :-)
I inked up a Simon's Good Reading Background Stamp with Smoke Ink to add more interest
I used a Tim Holtz Dot Fade Stencil and sprinkled with Prisma Glitter. I then added a branch from a Tim Holtz Small Tattered Florals Die Set .
I coloured the birds using Dyan Reavely Paints (LOVE THESE) and popped the wings up using 3D foam adhesive.
and finished with a handwritten sentiment in a 'Dyan' boxed in style.

Ok so it seems i am the only one that is not able to use the Gelli Plate. It makes me so sad because it seems so easy yet I don't understand how to make pretty layers.

Oh wow! These are just an exercise in yumminess! The color palette is gorgeous and the brightly-colored birds made me smile. The background texture you achieved is really amazing and the whole scene came together beautifully. Inside or out, your cards are a treat to see!
