I was also inspired by Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland and made a card with Alice falling, not exactly through a rabbit hole but near enough, and landing in the March Hare's mad tea party.
Thanks for all of your guesses on instagram and FB, they did make me smile and you were all very close this week! I almost gave the game away! ;-)
I used a Visual image Ahead Of Our Time Stamp Set , as soon as I saw it the door and the people images just reminded me of Alice, so I just had to go with that story.
I used a combination of Paper Artsy Rocky Road and Slime Infusions for the background. When that was dry I white heat embossed the 'time travel' clock. I love how this makes it look like Alice is swirling as she is falling!
Sorry I didn't take any step by step photos, this was my 2nd background as the first one turned to mud. The trick is to tape the edges of the paper to prevent them from curling then spritz lightly with water before sprinkling the powder, then spritz again until you are happy with the 'look' then dry with a heat tool. You can repeat this step with other colours etc.
I heat embossed the door on a separate piece of card and coloured with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. When It was dry I removed the doorway with a craft knife, I positioned it over the background paper and drew the doorway with a pencil to create an aperture to the 'outside'
I used Faded Jeans and Broken China Oxide Inks for the sky and then stamped the birds, from the set, and heat embossed them on a separate piece of cardstock.
And here is Alice landing right in the middle of the March Hare's mad tea party! I wrapped a little twine around his head as apparently this was a sign of madness in Victorian times and this is how he was depicted in the early illustrations in the books. I used a Tea and Coffee Set and shrink plastic to make the little cup of tea.
I distressed the edges and the added some washi tape to finish.
I used another piece of watercolor paper to mop up the excess infusions to use for the inside.
I used a Visible Image sentiment for the inside, this is currently out of stock.
Thanks for looking!
So now it's YOUR turn to get creating!

This is absolutely amazing, Lols! I am amazed of your card, the scene and all the details. There is a half of the book reflected on your card!
