My 1st Art Journal Cover and Gelli Printing !

Hi all :-) I hope you're all having a lovely weekend and finding some crafty time ! :-)

I have gotten all inky and full of paint today !! FUN !!

Have you tried Gelli Printing ?? what fun it is !!  You start with a Gelli Plate, some acrylic paints and a brayer, some stencils or die cuts,,, or anything really that can make a shape in the paint,,, the rim of a glass, a comb ,, whatever you  have you can use !

Here is what I did using a selection of stencils and colours ,,,,, as you can see I have die cut a tag and a heart from 2 of them and I used them on the front of my art  journal

The Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge has a fabulous theme this week and are showcasing the new Shari Carroll Art Journal Kits and it just so happened that I had bought one and it was perfect timing to give me some inspiration and tips ,,,

I started by removing the elastic band around the book ( great tip ) and then smothered the whole thing with Multi Matte Medium and then stuck a sheet of vintage paper, that was in a previous Simon Says Stamp Card Kit, I liked the map design and as this 'ART' has taken me on trips to the USA I thought it would be perfect ! :-) I then gave the whole thing a coating of the multi matte medium again before inking with various distress inks.
In my kit there were 2 stamps from Indigo Blu, one was a cat with music and the other was a little strip of flowers. I used the cat/music stamp on the grungeboard heart behind the flower, on the grungeboard letter and on a piece of the vintage paper behind the metal frame.
Instead of using the circle template in the kit I decided to use the Moroccan Stencil ,,,more in keeping with the world theme :-)
I really had alot of fun making this, and gelli printing,,, and now hubby is cooking dinner ,,, a perfect end to a perfect day :-)

I have a candy on my blog if you would like to join in CLICK HERE for more details :-)

Wow Lols
This is stunning.
I have had a Gelli plate ages and only used it once, but didn't really know how to use it.
After seeing your gorgeous work I must say I cannot wait to use it now. Debbiex
