Simon Says ,,,,, Christmas in August

Thanks for all your fabulous entries to our Shaped Cards challenge :-) It does make a nice change to move away from the standard square shape and there were some fabulous templates out there that some of you used ! Gorgeous creations !!

This week's challenge is,,,, CHRISTMAS IN AUGUST

Now we do know that many of us are in a heatwave and Christmas seems so far away, but it will soon be here and what better time to start, or add to your collection, than right now and avoid the last minute rush :-)

For my card I used this fab image from Stamps Happen, this one is called Chillin Penguin, don’t you just love it ! He is soo cute !! :-) ,, he just tripped and fell into my basket on a recent visit to the one and only Simon Says Stamp Superstore, he should have looked where he was going !!! :-)

I coloured the image with Copics, I didn’t bother with shading cos I thought he looked good plain back n white, I did colour another one and shaded it but tossed that in the bin :-) I decided to make a shaker card so I made a frame using Martha Stewart PATP Snowflake punch set. and some red and black cardstock. I forgot to add a few little stamped snowflakes,, stickled of course, AND I was going to use glossy accents on his beak and feet ,, completely forgot and only remembered after I had stuck the acetate frame over him !!! too late now !!! I added a large snowflake , all lovely and glittery in the top corner,,, I used a MS Himalayan Snowflake punch , and 2 smaller snowflakes for that and then added some tiny snowflakes from an EK Success snowflake border punch down the side.

The stuff inside the shaker is Diamond Dust, this is quite heavy and makes a lovely noise when shaken and I added a Melissa Frances rub on to finish.
