I was THRILLED to be asked by Dawny P to be a Guest Designer on the Papertake Weekly Challenge :-) The previous GD's are all fabulous and are a very hard act to follow and the DT are all fantastic too so I am just hoping I can keep up with them and not show myself up !!! Am quaking in my flip flops ( still hot here in Gozo ) :-)
Ok here goes !! The Theme this week is 'THE DARK SIDE',,, spooky,, Halloweenish :-)
Well I know it is difficult to make a Tilda look spooky !! But I tried !! :-)
I love this Tilda with pumpkin image :-) I coloured her with copics and 3D'd her onto some paper that I had coloured with various colours of distress inks, black soot, spiced marmalade and dusty concorde,, I tried to make it look spooky !! :-) Can you see the fab spider ?? Well ,, I have very few ,,, none actually,, Halloweeny embellies and came across this fab idea of using buttons and wire to make a spider on Susie Sugar's blog ,, you must pop over to see it,,, so cute :-) So I hope you don't mind me lifting your idea Susie x x Thanks x
I tried to make it look as if it was hanging on a thread from the flower, the stem of the bud was threaded through the flowers and wrapped around a skewer.and the spider attached to that ,,, The flower was grunged with slate glimmer mist,, lovely and shimmery in real life :-)
The papers are all from a Funky Fairys Papercrafts A Lil Bit Spooky set :-) I used black/purple coredinations too. All the edges of the papers were distressed with inks too. The oval mat is chipboard which I painted with a thick layer of acrylic paint and heated to make it bubble ,,, I love this efffect but you have to look closely to see it as most of it is covered with the text !!
I also made this little treat bag,,, the sweeties have long since disappeared ,,,, :-) yum :-)
Thanks for looking :-) The DT have made some very spooky creations for you to see so pop over to the Papertake Weekly Challenge to see them and please leave them a comment :-)
Thanks to the DT for having me along, I am looking forward to the next few weeks and being part of the team :-)
