Simon Says ,,,, Anything BUT a Card :-)

Before moving onto the challenge I would like to welcome our new team members :-)

This week we have another great challenge for you !!

ANYTHING BUT A CARD

so a Tag, ATC, Album, Frame, Bookmark, Candle ,, endless possibilities :-)

We are showcasing 7 Gypsies and /or Maya Road Products on our cards this week and if you have them we would love to see them used but you don't have to use them to join in :-)

I bought this gorgeous Shadow Box by 7 Gypsies a while ago specifically for this challenge and hoped I would have a ‘light bulb’ moment in the time it took from ordering to having to get down and inky ,,,, well that never happened !! So it was time for plan ‘B’ ,,, wing it ,,,,, :-)

I had also bought some Life collage tissue paper and wanted to use it so I tore it up and covered the whole box with it. Now what ??? ummmm then I spotted this lovely photo of Amy when she was 5 years old, taken on Blackpool beach after a donkey ride and I decided to use it as the focal point of the box. I coloured some cheese cloth with Vintage Photo Distress Stain and popped it in the box I stamped a Unity postcard and inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink and used pop dots to pop that in there too. I scanned and printed the photo and then inked the edges and used a distress tool to scuff the edges.

I had some seashells in the bathroom so I glued a few of those in there and added a little piece of burlap and used my Silhouette Cameo to cut some hearts which I glued together, coloured with a copic marker and then sprinkled with red glitter.

All the embellies in the little boxes were cut out on the Silhouette too, coloured with copics and inked a little with vintage photo. I then smothered the ‘Fun in the Sun with Star Dust Stickles :-)

I must admit I really LOVED making this ! It really brought back lots of lovely memories.

It was Sean’s 10th birthday and we went to Blackpool with my parents, my sister and her hubby, their 2 children and my brothers daughter came along too. It was a lovely day and Sean and I even braved The BIG One !! :-) I will find the photo that was taken on the ride ,,, very funny, and I will make another one of these for Sean !! :-)

‘L’ for Lyrics Mid Way Reminder :-)

Hi all :-) I have LOTS going on on my blog today so I hope you pop back later too and join in all the FUN ! :-)

I am here with a midway reminder for the ABC Christmas Challenge

This time the lovely Carissa has chosen the theme ,,,

‘L’ FOR LYRICS , so any Christmas Carol will do :-)

I chose 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town'

I made this card using the gorgeous ‘Molly’ from Saturated Canary, coloured with copics and I made the fabulous snowflake frame on my Silhouette Cameo, I cut it out of brown card then glittered with brown glitter ,,, yummy ! The papers are Bo Bunny from the Snowfall pack ,, LOVE these papers. I used Martha Stewart snowflake punches and popped a Pearl in the middle, also from a Bow Bunny Ambrosia jewels set. I used a Tim Holts Ticket Strip die and a stamp from the Odds and Ends set and finished with some organza ribbon.

This week on the Papertake Weekly we are having a lovely game of

we all like a game eh!! so eyes down look in ,,here's the grid !

I really wanted to have a play with my new distress markers and this is the result ! I do quite like it even though it is a bit on the bright side :-)

3 down, Punches/Glitter/Blooms

I coloured a Hero Arts Wildflower Garden stamp with the markers, sprayed with Studio Calico Shine and stamped onto watercolour paper. I then coloured the edges with distress inks and used a distress tool on the edges.

I coloured plain white card with a Spiced Marigold ink for layering and used some Kaiser Crafts paper, it has a delicate butterfly design on it but it doesn’t show up in the photo.

I added some Hero Arts Sunshine Dots and gems in the centre of the flowers and finished with some Martha Stewart punched butterflies and a lovely Summer Breeze ribbon from Crafty Ribbons.

I used this sooo cute Fresh Squeezed Jokester image and coloured with Copics and Star Dust stickles added here and there :-) The papers are Amy Tangerine from a Sketchbook pack and I used a brand new Circles border die which is made by Memory Box for a Simon Says Stamp Exclusives series. I cut our the Lemon on my Silhouette Cameo, the design was a free SVG from SVG Cuts. I coloured white card using the Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink that is in the Spring Edition and finished with a ribbon from Crafty Ribbons and the sentiment is also from House Mouse.

I decorated the inside too, the sentiment was written on the Silhouette and the drink is a Hero Arts stamp.

Hi all :-) I hope you are all well and looking forward to a crafty weekend :-)

I made this card for the Crafty Ribbons Inspiration Blog where it is my turn to showcase their fabby ribbons and I chose to use this gorgeous Vintage Rose ribbon, this comes in sheer or satin and in lots of colours, I used the Gold/Pink Sheer .

I made this card following the fab sketch on the Sketch Saturday Challenge. I used the very cute Tilly with Gift image from the Wild Rose Studio :-) I coloured with copics and faux stitched the edges. The papers are from a gorgeous WRS Strawberry Picnic pack and the sentiment is from a WRS Birthday Circles set. I finished with some buttons also from Crafty Ribbons store :-)

I used this gorgeous Wildflower Garden Cling Stamp from Hero Arts.

First of all I cut out the shape on my Silhouette Cameo, you can download the SVG from their website. I coloured the stamp with Distress Markers then sprayed with a Studio Calico Shine Mister ( really sparkly IRL) , then using a stamp positioner stamped onto neenah card. I cut out 2 Spellbinders ovals and while the die was still in place I sprayed using a copic airbrush and a B23 copic marker.

For the background I used a Flourish Background stamp, inked with versamark and embossed with White embossing powder, I then used the resist technique and coloured with Spun Sugar distress ink. I distressed all the edges and coloured the layering papers with the same copic marker.

Now comes the best bit !!! :-) I used some FABULOUS new Simon Says Stamp Exclusives Dies !! I used a Hexigon Border, looks like a honeycomb, and a gorgeous Allegro corner, I coloured these with Wild Honey DI. I layered everything onto a Hero Arts Notecard and usep pop dots to raise up the flower. I stamped and cut out 2 little Hero Arts bees coloured and glittered and glossy accents added to their heads. I finished with my compulsory Star Dust Stickles and some Hero Arts Twine

I decorated the inside too and used a Simon Says Stamp ‘Oh Happy Day, die and a bee to make the words ,, Happy B’ Day !! ,,, does it work ?? :-)

I really had fun making this, there is something about making the background papers yourself ,, :-)
