Less Is More Challenge ,,, Butterflies :-)

Hi all :-) hope you're all enjoying a lazy Sunday afternoon :-) The weather here has been awful this weekend ,, gale force winds bringing the Sahara desert sand and plonking it in my yard ,,, then a few spots of rain to turn it into mud and everything is filthy :-/

Anyway ,, I decided to close the windows and leave the weather outside and make a card for fun :-)
This is for the Less Is More Challenge, Mandi and Chrissie have challenged us fellow Limettes to make a card with butterflies. Mandi and Chrissie’s cards are fabulous and I had a quick look at the thumbnails to see what everyone else had been making ( I will be round soon for closer look see’s :-)) and everyone has made stunning cards ,,,, no pressure then !!!

I have been playing with my Tim Holtz stamps and goodies for an upcoming challenge and while they were still out I thought I would use them again :-)

The butterfly is actually a Judikins one that I have had for ages and only inked once !

I started with a base card of SU Crumb Cake ( bought from Mandi )and used black card and Basic Grey Kraft paper. I inked the paper with Vintage Photo disress inks and masked a couple of areas with a Tim Holtz mini flourish mask. ( top left and bottom right) I then stamped a flourish stamp from the Anthology set using Tea Dye Distress ink which was spritzed with water to give a softer outline. I then stamped the butterfly and a tree from the Mini Ornates set ,, I would have preferred an Eiffel Tower but the 2 stamps I have were too small ,,,:-/ I always associate Butterflies with France ,,, Papillon ,,, The sentiment is from a Wild Rose Studio sentiment set.

For my card I used this lovely ‘Rory’ stamp and a brolly stamp from a Simon Says Stamp exclusives set. I stamped the brolly and masked it to stamp Rory underneath, then decoupaged the brolly ( no need to have masked really !! ) I coloured the image with Copics and inked the edges with Stormy Sky and Spiced Marmalade distress inks. The papers are from American Traditional Designs, Beach Fun and I added a Whimsey ticket, stamped with a LOTV sentiment, a Basic Grey button, some twine and a few Robins Nest Dew Drops and a bucket brad to finish.Of course there is a dab or 2 of my compulsory star dust stickles here and there too :-)

For my card I used this very cute ( but neglected) House Mouse Feeling Rosy stamp. Coloured with Copics and the little tag was decoupaged , I inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink. The circle was made using a Spellbinders beaded circle and inverted scalloped dies. I added a ribbon and tea rose and the sentiment and gems are from Hero Arts

The DT have been using products from Tattered Angels,, loads of glimmer mist this week :-)

For my card I decided to make a Joy Fold,,, I love these !! I used one of my new HM stamps ( sshh ) this one is called Basket of Friendship, I coloured the image with Copics and inked the edges with Stormy Sky distress ink. I made the papers using Slate and Chianti Glimmer Mists, the glimmer doesn’t show up on the piccy’s but they are gorjussss IRL

I added some faux pearls using a Viva Magenta pen and a Prima Athena flower, sprayed with glimmer mist, and some Martha Stewart punched Frond leaves.

For the inside I used this cute HM Mudpie Holds Jelly Beans stamp. I coloured the jelly beans to look like berries ,, this can also work for coffee beans ,,,, very versatile stamp !! The sentiment is also a HM stamp

Less Is More ,,,,??

Hi all :-) this is a very quick card from me this evening !!

I made this with the Less Is More challenge in mind whose theme is One Layer + Embossing and also the Simon Says Stamp and Show whose theme is ‘Old Wives Tales’ I went with ‘A stitch in Time’

I used SU Crumb Cake card, bought from Mandi and I used a stamp from the Tim Holtz Haberdashery set. I inked it with Vintage Photo distress ink and embossed with Vintage photo embossing powder. I then coloured all the edges with the ink too. The tape was in a Christmas cracker and the ribbon slider was a purple brad that I inked and embossed too. I added the Graphic 45 chipboard button and used twine to make ‘9’ !

Hi all :-) Hope the weather is blooming marvelous where you are to get you in the mood for this weeks theme on the Papertake Weekly Challenge !!

I used this very cute Molly Blooms stamp, this one is called Sunflower Molly. I coloured her with Copics and layered her top, shorts, wellies and sunflower, inked the edges with Stormy Sky Distress Ink. The papers are My Minds Eye from the Mabel pad. I used a Martha Stewart Pansy border punch and a ribbon, watering can charm and brad that were in my stash. The flowers are a mix of Prima and WOC and I added a few Robins Nest Dew Drops and stickles for sparkle.

I made a pocket on the inside to hold seeds or stamped images ,, depending on who I will send it to ,,, maybe a mixture of both !! The seed packs were a free download from here .

For my card I used a Hero Arts Eggshell Note card for the base some very cute new Hero Arts stamps using images from the Life of the Party Cutouts and Life of the Party Birthday stamp sets. What little colouring there is was done with copics and I added star dust stickles for sparkle :-) The papers are Jillibean Blossom Soup ( my current faves !! ) and I just added a few Hero Arts black pearls to finish

Now I know this looks simple but it took me AGES to make ,,, lol ,, lots of faffing about ummin and arrin !!

This is not my usual style and I wasn’t very sure whether I liked it or not but Amy ( my 17 yr old arty daughter) thought it was ‘HIP’ so I am using it instead of starting again

The ribbon was in my drawer and I added a charm and robins nest dew drops and loads of star dust stickles to finish

Just For fun Card :-)

I won a choice of 7 Bugaboo digi stamps on the Corrosive Challenge last week and ‘Tequila’ is one of the stamps I chose :-)

I followed the fab sketch on the Sketch Saturday challenge, coloured the image with Copics and used a Spellbinders circle to cut her out ,,, making sure her boots were cut out first and not underneath :-) The papers were a RAK from America and I embossed some plain white card with a Cuttlebug Happy Birthday folder. I then inked all the edges with Pumice Stone distress ink and added star dust stickles for sparkle,I was going for a dark nightclub sort of look :-)

I stamped some Hero Arts flag stamps to create the banner and sprayed them with Diamond Glimmer Mist . I used Glossy Accents on her wine glass ( I coloured that before I remembered she was drinking tequila ! ), boots, glasses and earrings.

This card is for my niece’s 30th B’day ( I hope she doesn’t see this !! ) and when I showed it to Amy she said ,,, you can’t send her that !! she looks like a pole dancer !! WELL !! THAT is EXACTLY the look i was going for ,, SUCESS !!

This is her on a recent hen night I REALLY hope she doesn’t see this !!!!
