Altenew 'Springtime Azeleas'

Good Morning! How are you all? I hope the sun is shining and hope you have a wonderful day!! 

Yesterday I posted some cards for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday 'Floral Frenzy' Challenge, made using a Springtime Azalea Clear Stamp Set and Coordinating Die Set, and while I was on my travels around blogland I saw that the March Inspiration Theme on the Altenew Blog is a photo inspiration by the lovely Virginia and decided to make a similar card using colours to join in with the theme. 

For the background I used a Simon's Exclusive Brush Stroke Messages Stamp Set and inked up the longest brush stroke with Wild Honey, Abandoned Coral and mermaid Lagoon Distress Oxide Inks. I then smooshed some Mermaid Lagoon onto a craft mat, spritzed with water and splattered over the top. I then splattered some Black Marble Shimmer Spray

I used a  Mini Misti StampingTool to make sure everything was aligned properly and inked with Simon's Exclusive Sea Glass, Island Blue, and Soft Navy Inks.  For the sentiment I used a Painted Hello Die 

and I finished the inside.

Simon Says: Floral Frenzy

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge

Before moving on to this weeks challenge we would like to say a sad farewell to Virginia. Virginia is stepping down from the team and we would like to say a huge thank you for all of your dedication to the challenge over the past few years! It has been a great pleasure to have you with us and we are going to miss you LOTS x x

Floral Frenzy

 I used a Springtime Azalea Clear Stamp Set and Coordinating Die Set, a Label Love Clear Stamp Set and a Floral 6 Mini Crisp Ink Pad Set .

I started by smooshing some Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Ink onto a craft mat and dipping the bottom right corner into it. I then used the same ink to splatter some ink across the card and then splattered some Black Marble Shimmer Spray over it too. 

I love that the little set of ink pads takes all of the hassle out of deciding on which colours of  inks to use! 

I used Smoke Grey Card and a banner die to cut the shape and then used the Misti to stamp all the sentiments. I have to say I do love this Altenew Crisp Black Ink, I tested several black inks on this stamp and this one definitely gave the most crisp result.

and I finished the inside 

I decided to use my Mini MISTI and make a whole set of cards as a gift for a special friend ;-)  The MISTI is great for mass production! First of all I die cut the shapes out of some scrap card (in this case outdated postnatal record cards ;-))and then once you have the first stamp in place it is so easy then just to place the die cut pieces in one after the other, ink and close,,, super easy :-)

Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit Cards

I am here with a couple of CAS one layer cards made using products in the Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit 

I really love the Butterflies Stencil in this set and used the Squeezed Lemonade Oxide Ink and the new Tim Holtz Blending Brush to apply some colour, I also used a little Worn Lipstick Oxide Ink  to add a little extra shading. 

For this first one I embossed using a Stitched Rectangle Die to create a little bit of interest around the edge. I then made a mask out of scratch paper, using the same die, and randomly stamped some text in grey ink. I then used the stencil to add colour before applying White Embossing Powder and Sprinkling with Glitter

I used the same techniques with this 2nd one I made but instead of adding text I added a few splatters of black and used a black pen to add a few faux stitches

and this is the kit in all its splendour ;-)
