Hi all :-) Thanks for all your entries to Dawny’s sketch last week :-)

This week we have the free n easy ANYTHING GOES theme :-) The optional extra this week is metal ,,, woo hoo ,, I remembered this time !! :-)

A friend of mine is a little poorly at the mo’ so I made this card for her and hope she feels better soon xx

This image is a RAK from my lovely blog buddy and HM teamie Christine xx I couldn’t resist this so I now have a stamp too :-) This one is called Dr Amanda, the poor little mite must have been in the wars to have so many injuries eh !! I coloured the image with Copics and added some faux stitching around the edge. The papers are Pink Petticoat and the stars were made using Die-namics stacking stars die cuts. I used some bias tape from The Ribbon Girl and added a few Robins Nest Dew Drops ( faux silver ,,,,, metal ! ) and a red velvet brad ( more metal !! )+ a metal tin on the image !! :-)

Artist Trading Cards (or ATCs) are miniature works of art about the same size as modern baseball cards,^[1] or 2 ½ X 3 ½ inches,small enough to fit inside standard card-collector pockets, sleeves or sheets. The cards are usually traded or exchanged rather than sold.

For my ATC I chose this very cute House Mouse ‘Sew What’ image. I coloured the image with Copics and inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink and then distressed the edges using a paper distresser. I used a little SU brown card and sewed the image to the backing. I wrapped some Jillibean Twine around it a couple of times and tied a double bow, I then used a TH stamp from the Haberdashery set, stamped onto shrink plastic with black stazon,inked and shrunk. I then popped that onto the bow to finish :-)

Totally Papercrafts and Stamp Something Challenges :-)

Hi all :-) I hope all is well with everyone and you’re enjoying the summer :-)

This week the theme on the Totally Papercrafts Challenge was chosen by Anne and she chose ,,,, BLING IT UP and the Stamp Something Challenge s is SUMMER so I combined the 2 ,,, I have visitors arriving soon so I am pushed for time and took a short cut :-)

The lovely Heidi at Simon Says Stamp is sponsoring both challenges so a fab voucher to spend on the Stamp Something Challenge and a fab parcel of goodies on the TPC. The TPC also have an extra sponsor, The Stamp Fairy is offering a fab choice of digi images too :-) Lots of lovely prizes !! :-)

For my card I followed the fab sketch on the Sketch and Stash Challenge

I used this lovely CC Designs Bubbles Lost Lagoon image. I coloured her with Copics , cut her out and popped her onto a foaming sea, created using a Tiny Bubbles Cuttlebug folder and sprayed with Diamond Glimmer mist ( very sparkly IRL :-)) The clouds were made using my Copic air brush and a scalloped nestie die cut. The card, papers and ribbon are fall new and are from are Stampin Up ( available from Mandi) and I bought the flowers at the NEC. I finished with some Hero Arts flat back pearls and used a Viva Decor Ice White Pearl Pens to pop some pearls in her hair. I used Star Dust stickles here and there and some Frosted Lace stickles on the foamy water :-)

Hi all :-) Thanks for all your fab entries last week ,, there were some really unusual ways to use newsprint ,,, I remember in the olden days when it was torn into strips and hung on a nail on the loo door ,,,, no kiddin !! :-) ,, eee lass, them were the days ,,,,, :-)

OK ,, less of my trip down memory lane and onto this weeks theme ,,,

SHAPED CARDS /CREATIONS ,, no squares :-)

For my card I just HAD to use my new House Mouse Give Peas a Chance ,,, aww ,, sooo cute :-)

I decided to make a circle easel card and used my Cricut to cut out the basic circle shapes . I coloured the image with Copics and cut him out using a Wonky Rectangle, I decoupaged the peas at the front, inked the edges with Vintage Photo and distressed with a paper distresser. The papers are Echo Park from the Fly a Kite paper pack. All the papers were inked and distressed and I run around all the edges on my sewing machine. the sentiment is from a HM unmounted set. The ribbon and button were in my drawer and I used a little bit of Jillibean twine to make a bow. Of course I had to add some Star Dust stickles for sparkle too,,, tis compulsory ! :-)

Hi all :-) I hope you are all OK and enjoying the summer holidays :)

This week on the Papertake Weekly Challenge Dawny has once again dreamed up a fabby sketch for us to follow ,,, I truly LOVE this one :-)

Now ,, I have to admit, this card made itself ,, nothing to do with me ! Does that happen to you ?? sometimes cards take ages and nothing looks right and others just ‘fit’ together immediately ! I really enjoyed making this one :-) I just bought this fab Snoopy the Bus Driver stamp and LOVE it , I am starting a collection of Snoopy’s now ! :-) I love the fact that you don’t have to mess about shading ,,, as a cartoon they are just a block of plain colour ,,, simples ! I layered this so that Snoopy and the passengers are inside the bus :-)

The papers are My Minds Eye‘ Fly a Kite and I cut out the big circle on my Cricut ( after dusting it off !! ) I made the traffic lights by punching lots of circles, gluing them together and colouring, then covering with a huge blob of glossy accents. The letters and numbers are die cuts from a TH Typeset die and the sentiment os from a Lawn Fawn Alphabet set.

Hi all :-) I am back again with another card, this time it is for the Stamp Something Challenge and this week we have ,,,Stamp Somethin ,,,,, and Embellish it :-)

For my card I followed the fab sketch on the Sugar Bowl Challenge :-) Iused this lovely Party Frills image, coloured with Copics and star dust stickles added to her shirt and frosted lace stickles to the lace on her socks, I then inked the edges with Stormy Sky distress inks. the papers are from a Basic Grey Marjorlaine paper pack, I love the colours in this one ! The doily was a RAK from my buddy Cathy, I sprayed this with diamond glimmer mist and inked the edges slightly with pink chalk ink . I sewed all the edges and added my fave embellies , some fab ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and a few Robins Nest dew Drops. The sentiment is from LOTV and I added a bit of American Tag twine to the tag.

Hi all ,, well last week we had Girly Girly, now its the Lad’s turn ,,, don’t all groan at once lol ,,,,

I needed to make a card for my nephews 18th birthday ( I doubt that he will read this ,,, ) He is having flying lessons and his ambition is to be a pilot so I HAD to get this fab Snoopy Flying High stamp ! and a while ago I saw fab card on Debby’s blog using the Torn Paper stamp and thought it would work with this stamp too :-) I coloured the image with Copics ,, no shading cos its a cartoon. I then stamped the torn paper stamp onto some Graphic 45 Cirque paper and cut out the ‘hole’ I then made a cloudy sky using Copics behind it, then stamped it onto white card and cut out the torn edges,, phew ,,, what a job !! . The paper actually said Death Defying before I stuck a cloud in front of it !! :-) The clouds are CC Designs cloud dies and the Happy Birthday strip is punched with a Martha Stewart punch.

WOW !!!!!, THANK YOU so much to everyone who entered our Anything Goes challenge. We have never had to many entries and can't thank you enough for sharing all your fantastic creations with us. The final tally was 1121 entries !! AWESOME !!!
The DT have REALLY tried to get to visit you all but as you can imagine it may be difficult to visit you all, we are trying though :-)

Before moving on to our new challenge this week we would like to welcome two new DT members to the Simon family, Joy aka Less is More and Britta . I am sure you will have all visited both Joy and Britta's blogs but if not, you are in for a real treat ! Welcome aboard Joy and Britta.

This week's challenge is to use NEWSPAPER !

It can be the real mccoy, newspaper print designer paper or even a stamped image with newspapers featured on it, even something found inside a newspaper, Debby had a fabulous idea ,,,, :-)

I needed to make a card using 2 House Mouse stamps so a Joy fold card it was !!



For the outside I used my new Extra Extra stamp ( I bought this specifically for this challenge ,, any excuse eh !! ) Here is Amanda reading THE most important bit ,,, stale donuts on offer !!! Where there’s mice there is usually food ! I coloured her with Copics and kept the colours very neutral I then inked the edges with Vintage Photo distress ink. The papers are from a Tim Holtz Lost and Found paper pack, I inked all the edges with the ink, distressed them with a Paper Distresser and sewed all the edges. I used a Idea-ology word stick that can swing across to hold the card closed and another Tim Holtz thingy that I can’t remember the name of ,,,, :-)

I have to thank Scoopy for the stamped image called Donut Bliss, I NEEDED this image for this card !! This is Muzzy eating Monica’s donut ,,, naughty Muzzy ! :-) I stamped some mice feet using a Penny Black stamp ( retired) and the Happy Birthday was made using a Lawn Fawn alphabet set.

I really enjoyed making this card and I hope you like it

Hi all :-) ,, it is really difficult to think about Christmas when the sun is cracking the flags !! it is HOT here in Gozo ,,, phew !!

It is time for a new theme over on the ABC Christmas Challenge. This time it is Jayne’s turn to choose the theme and she chose

‘O’ for Old ,,,, use an old stamp, ,,, easy !

Unfortunately this is Jayne’s last challenge with us as she has decided to step down from the DT and move on to pastures new. It has been fabulous working with you Jayne and I wish you all the very best xx

The DT were all given images to use and I chose this very cute Christmas Friends stamp

I coloured the image with Copics, added glossy accents to their noses and star dust stickles here and there. I then inked the edges with Stormy Sky distress ink. The papers are downloads from Pink Petticoat and I used an EK Success snowflake border punch and Martha Stewart snowflake punch too. I embossed a strip of white card using a Swiss Dots folder and added some ribbon and Robins Nest Dew Drops to finish.
