Mod Tree for World Cardmaking Day :-)

Hi all :-) I hope you’re all having a fab weekend and managing to find some crafty time ,, after all it is ‘our’ weekend to celebrate cardmaking !! :-)

There is a special celebration over on the Simon Says Stamp Blog  and there are some fabulous Holiday 2012 Card Kits on offer !! :-) all you have to do is make a card, leave a link to your post and leave a comment ,,,, the more entries there are the more kits will be given away !!

Yesterday the postie arrived with a  HUGE parcel filled with my latest crafty spend !! I had ordered quite a few of the new stamps and dies from the Simon Says Stamp Exclusives and I have to say  I LOVE em all ,,, still have a few more to get ,,,,  :)

Mandi and Chrissie over on the Less is More Challenge are asking for silver so I thought I would add to my Christmas box and made this ,,,,, did you know there are only 78 more days to go ,,,,,Christmas will be here before we know it  :-)

I used the new Mod Tree die and cut it out of Silver Stardream card and cut some small stars using the  Holiday Shapes die, the larger star is from a Stacking Stars die. I added a few snowflakes from an EK Success Snowflake border punch and used a new Folded Banner Die for the sentiment.  I created a little ‘snow drift’ by tearing some card and embossing with a Sizzix dots folder.

To be honest I think I should have left the sentiment off , looking at it again it seems too big ... what do you think ??  :-)

Thanks for looking :-) I appreciate your comments so please leave me one Smile

Happy World Cardmaking day !!! What a fabulous day to celebrate and I have good reason to celebrate !! My latest crafty parcel arrived from Simon Says Stamp TODAY !! YAY !!  So I have lots of new stuff to play with,, well seeing as I couldn't come to the Ally Pally or the NEC this year I thought I should have a little treat to cheer myself up eh !!  :-)

I had ordered several of the latest Simon Says Stamp Exclusives  and couldn’t wait to try them out :-) First one out of the pack is this gorgeous Danville Wreath, soo pretty :-)

I used a very dark green card to die cut and then sprayed with Tawny Turquoise Moon Shadow Mist from Lindy’s Stamp Gang  ,, so gorgeous and shimmery IRL. I also used the same card for layering and to punch out some Martha Stewart 3 in 1 butterflies.  I cut a 2 nd wreath and trimmed out the 3 larger flowers and sprinkled with Glitter Ritz Stardust ,, which just happens to be the exact colour of the Hero Arts Wet Cement ink I used on the Impression Obsession Gradation stamp, also new today :-)
The sentiment was in the ‘Talking about You’ stamp and die set :-)

Christmas for the Boys :-)

We are sponsored by Nitwits so a fab $10 voucher on offer this week ! :-)

image_thumb[1]

I used this very cute Merry Christmas Penguins stamp which I just bought, along with one or 3 others :-)

I coloured with Copics, added a few silver stamped snowflakes and glittered  with star dust stickles. I embossed some plain white card with a Swiss Dots folder and the designer papers are from a Memory Box Pixie pack.  The North Pole sign was cut out on the Silhouette Cameo and I added glossy accents to the pole and crystal glitter on the snowy top :-) I punched a couple of  MS punches and popped a big gem in the middle to finish :-)

October Card Kit Candy !! :-)

Hi all :-) the very lovely Heidi, the owner of Simon Says Stamp sent me the October Card Kit of the month ‘Forever and Always’ and said that if I made a card using it and post it on my blog I could have an extra kit to give away !!! Woo Hoo !! :-)

THANKS SO VERY MUCH HEIDI :-)

So I set myself a little challenge to make 2 cards using only products that are in the kit ,,, no other stamps, papers or embellies, though inks and tools I allowed myself,, and these are what I came up with.

For the first one I stamped the flower image 3 times, once onto the background card, and twice onto pieces of the designer papers, cutting them all out and layering using scrap dots.  I used the Liquid Pearls on the pollen in the centre and stamped the sentiment using Memento Rich Cocoa ink. I added another strip of card and used some of the gorgeous ribbon and made a little button using a   Button Quartet die.  I slightly inked the edges with some Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

I made this one next ,, making a circle aperture for the sentiment to be stamped on the inside. I cute some thin strips of the paper and matted these onto some black card and tore the edge,,  added some faux stitching using a white gel pen and I adhered one of the beautiful flowers on there too :-)

,

I really enjoyed playing with this kit ,,, going to play some more now ,, there is soo much more left to use !

So if you would like a chance to win this Forever and Always Kit :-

1, add a photo and a link to the candy on your sidebar.
edited to add,  a few are having problems with blogger, so you can skip this bit if you can't manage to do it :-)
2,  leave a link with the froggy :-)
3, I would appreciate it if you were a follower too

This candy will close on Thursday 4th October at 9 am CET
Thanks for looking and I appreciate your comments too so please leave me one :-)

I bought this fabulous Wendy Vecchi Art Parts Film Strip Frame a while ago and thought I would make something to hang on a wall :-)

First of all I coloured the frame with a black copic marker and then sprayed with Tawny Turquoise Moon Shadow , this looks absolutely gorgeous IRL. I then left that to dry and sprayed the inside part with Royal Amethyst Glitz Spritz, oohh lovely it is ,,, :-) I then used various Tim Holtz stamps, distress inks  and a Dyan Reaveley Chequered Dots stencil to create the background.
I made the flower using a Tattered Florals Sizzix die, watercolour paper, distress inks and the Royal Amethyst spray. I also used sa Grungeboard swirl die cut, which was coloured and sprayed like the frame.
