Simon Says: Masculine

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge

This week we are challenging you to make something

Masculine

As I am sure you all know it will be Fathers Day on June 18th so you can choose to make a Dad's day card or maybe you would rather make an alternative manly creation, Whatever you decide to create we will be looking forward to seeing them!
This week we are showcasing some fabulous Darkroom Door Products. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have any of their products we would love to see them used!
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
We are welcoming the lovely and super talented Anne Redfern aka Redanne into the Designer Spotlight this month. If you haven't visited Anne's blog before then you are in for a real treat! Please pop by to leave her a nice comment.

I made a Father's Day card for her Dad using Distress Oxide InksRobo Rings Dies and a Simon's Exclusive Mom and Dad Icons Stamp Set . Unfortunately I only have one Darkroom Door Stamp set ( I ordered more but they haven't arrived in time ;-/) and it is currently out of stock so I used different products.

I started by blending Vintage Photo and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide Inks over watercolour paper and then darkened the edges with a little Walnut Stain. I then spritzed and splattered with water and let it dry before running it through a gridiron design embossing folder, which is very similar to this one.

I used a Memory Box Zippy Dots Stencil and white embossing paste, while the paste was still wet I sprinkled Nuvo Gold Sparkle Dust over the top and heat set. I then splattered Ryan Reaveley Marble Black ink over the top.

I love how Macarena often uses a combination of straight and zig zag stitching on her creations so I copied her ;-) I tell you I am learning so many fabulous tips from these girls!

arty angle ;-)

I used Ebony Black and Apple Green Crystal drops here and there, I dragged the tip through the drops to give them a mis-shape, I didn't want them to be perfect circular dots.

and I finished the inside

Thanks for looking!

So now it's YOUR turn to get creating!

Do you use Instagram ?  If so please add  #sssmchallenge so we can see your entries there too

House Mouse 'Crib Time'

I am here with a reminder to please join in with the theme over on the House Mouse and Friends Challenge. This time the lovely Diane has chosen

 'Think Pink!'

(As much pink as you like, or you can always choose the Anything Goes option. the main thing is to have fun with House Mouse, Gruffies and Happy Hoppers!)

I used this super cute 'Crib Time' Cling Stamp. Aren't they ADORABLE!!

One sucking on a dummy (pacifier for those on there other side of the pond) one has lost his teddy and one sucking his thumb, Ellen Jareckie really does have such a close affinity with these little critters and it really shows in her artwork don't you think!

I used some lovely Lawn Fawn papers and added a luscious tulle bow and a few drops of Nuovo Crystal Drops.

I paper pieced a floor using woodgrain paper and added a simple yellow stamped design for the wallpaper

and I finished the inside to make this card that little bit extra special :-)
