Crafting For Gold Day 2

Hi all :-)Here we are with Day 2 of the Crafting for Gold event :-)

Todays challenge is

CREATE YOUR OWN BACKGROUND

I decided to make a tag today :-)

I started with a basic white tag from Tim Holtz and inked with the new Summer Seasonal inks and a little Vintage Photo around the edges. I then splashed with water to create splotches, distressed the edges and used a Tim Holtz stamp inked with brown chalk ink.

I used various stamps from the Indigo Blu ‘Sewing Mends the Soul’ set, stamped and coloured with copics and then adhered with scrap dots. I added a strip of Sentiment Ribbon along the side and added some Vintage Buttons too. I used some 7mm Natural Silk ribbon, some Vintage Twine and a scissors charm from my drawer to finish.

I used this very cute Crafty Sentiment image, this is called Mushroom Bear ,, isn’t he adorable ! :-)

I coloured with Copics and inked the edges with Stormy Sky and Forest Moss DI. The papers are from Magnolia and I embossed a panel using a Hearts M-Bossabilities folder. I made the butterfly using Memory Box dies and I added some Dew Drops and a gorgeous Organza Red/White Swiss Dots ribbon from Crafty Ribbons to finish :-)

I finished the inside using the same products and a Hero Arts sentiment :-)

Crafting For Gold Opening Ceremony !! :-)

RIBBONS !!

I had a lot of fun making this card :-)

I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out the ‘envelope from Kraft card and I then stamped this using a Hero Arts Chevron stamp inked with a Latte ink pad. I then wrapped a lovely Summer Breeze Lime Ribbon around and tied a bow :-)

For the inset I used Neenah card and I used a TH distress tool to colour with Shabby Shutters DI . The flowers were part of the same design on the silhouette and I coloured these with Fired Brick DI and then sprayed with Studio Calico Shine. When that was dry I stamped the using the same Latte ink and a HA Dots stamp. The flower centres were coloured with Spiced Marigold ink and I popped a fab Flower Button in the middle. I made a little ‘flag’ using a Sentiment ribbon and the lovely pin is from a PB&J pins and tags set.

Just for a change I thought I would use a House Mouse stamp this week

This one is called ‘One Mouse Band’ ,,, soooo cute !! :-)

I stamped him onto Neenah card, coloured with Copics and inked the edges with Stormy Sky and Forest Moss DI. The papers are from a Bo Bunny ‘Ambrosia’ pack and I used a GORGEOUS Bella Bloom die, I thought the smaller inner flowers resembled the flowers on the image, I used a Fresh Daisies die to make the stems and popped an Allegro Corner on there too, all these were coloured with copics. I added some Hero Arts gems to the centre of the flowers and wrapped some Hemptique twine around the panel. On the corner I used a Black Viva Pearl Pen to make the flower centres and finished with a few Dew Drops :-)

I decorated the inside using a Fresh Daisies die cut and an ‘Oh Happy Day’ die too

Life’s a Beach on the Crafty Ribbons Challenge :-)

Hi all :-) I hope the sun is shining wherever you are ,,, it is here ,,, but I am soon heading off to get drenched in the UK !!! I hope the weather changes tomorrow and stays nice for at least 2 weeks :-)

This time on the Crafty Ribbons Challenge the owner of the store ‘Ali’ has chosen the theme ,,,

SUMMER/HOLIDAY/BEACH

The prize on offer this week is this fabulous pack of ribbons !! :-)

I just HAD to use this Oh soo cute House Mouse image,, this is called Beach Bums :-),, aren’t they adorable This stamp is also available in an unmounted set from Joanna Sheen called Parasol.

I stamped the image twice so that I could tear the card along the shoreline and then pop the parasol over them to protect them from the blazing Sunshine ,,, don’t want em getting burnt !! :-) The papers are from Lawn Fawn and I used an EK Success border punch and some Robins Nest Dew Drops. I cut out the bucket and spade on the Silhouette Cameo and finished with some fab Infusion Ribbon and a Rum Punch button for the sun from Crafty Ribbons :-)

I finished the inside using stamps from the unmounted set.

I must say that I do like the smaller stamps on these sets but often the larger ones are reduced in size and are more diffy to colour, so I often ended up buying the wooden versions too.

and this is Dawny's FABULOUS sketch !! :-)

I used this very cute ‘Start the day with Whee’ image from MFT.

I stamped with black Memento ink onto Neenah card and used the tag die from the ‘Tag You’re It’ set. I then stamped the grass using a Hero Arts stamp from a ‘Stamp a Garden’ set. I paper pieced her dress and then coloured with Copics and added star dust stickles here and there. The papers are from a Basic Grey PB&J pack and I used a Button Quartet die to make the buttons to hang the swing from ,,,, :-) I cut out several buttons from scraps of white card and then cut the top ones from the papers and then tied a twine bow. I only used the ‘Whee’ part of the sentiment and added a few Dew Drops to finish.

I finished the inside by off stamping the image, coloured with copics and then used a Hero Arts sentiment and an extra button with a twine bow :-)
