Simon Says: Use Patterned Papers

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the World Traveler Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is

USE PATTERNED PAPERS

With all of the background stamps, stencils and paints out there patterned papers have been taking a back seat, especially in the word of mixed media, so we thought it was about time we included them in our projects!

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

Please pop by to see what our Designer in the Spotlight, Alison, has made, she truly is an inspiration!

I decorated a Mini Clipboard using Patterned Tissue Wrap

When I saw Kath's decorated clipboard a few weeks ago I just had to get one for me! I love that we inspire each other to have a go at making things that we would never have thought of! I started by painting the  Mini Clipboard with White Gesso and then blended Peacock Feathers Distress Ink over the top. I cut a piece of the  Tissue Wrap and blended the same ink on the 'wrong' side,  I then covered the whole board with Multi Medium Matte Glue  and adhered it in place.

I love the effect simple spritzing and splattering can give, and it's fun!
splattered with Dylusions White LinenBlack Marble and Vibrant Turquoise ink.

I 'aged' the clip slightly with gesso and alcohol inks

For the flap I cut a piece of  paper from a Lost and Found Paper Pack and inked to match the base. I decorated the flap with Wildflowers and Botanical Remnant Rubs, I love how this turned out and think these would make great gifts!

I love my clipboard! It matches my 'loft' and is a lovely way for me to jot down what supplies I NEED ;-)

So now it's YOUR turn to dig your papers out and cut into them!

 Happy Crafting

Lols, this is amazing!! This piece totally cements that you are a true mixed media artist!!! The blues are fantastic and make me think of the sea. I love how you aged the metal on the clipboard, and well, I love everything about it!! I can see I need to put these clipboards on my list! hugs, Maura

This project made me smile! What a clever idea to make a stunning clipboard that can also serve as your home base for an "I need..." supply list! Love that! And I like how you made it functional and pretty. I especially like the background and how you added in all those different kinds of splatters and dots. It was also exciting to see the Marquee alphabet in use!
